Check valves are poppet style elements that allow free flow in one direction while preventing flow in the reverse direction. They can be used to isolate portions of a hydraulic circuit or to provide a free flow path around a restrictive valve.
Types:
Nose to Side Checks
Soft Seal Check Valve
Side to Nose Check Valve
|
|
The check valves permit flow in one direction only; the operation of the valve is based on the movement of a small disc. The disc shifts within the housing as the pressure differential changes from forward to reverse. A flat surface on one side of the disc seals off flow, while the other side allows flow to pass.
The check valves offer low "cracking pressure" and a minimum differential forward flow, less than 0.005 PSI in the standard units.

In many paper mills steam is superheated and distributed at high pressure for efficiency reasons. The pipe sizes required to transport the high pressure steam are smaller due to the low specific volume of the steam, and turbine efficiency is optimized when high pressure superheated steam is used. Kadant Johnson desuperheaters are designed to reduce the temperature of superheated steam for optimal heat transfer and efficiency.
|
|
Both steam pressure reduction and temperature reduction (Desuperheating) are done in a single valve making it an extremely efficient, cost effective and compact solution.
Features
- Compact Design
- High turndown (40:1)
- Reduced noise level
- Efficient cooling water atomization
- Reduced straight runs for pressure and temperature measurements
- Better control over change in flow

Pressure Relief Valve type LV / LNV
The safe and economic solution to protect your pump and plant against over-pressure.
Function:
The pneumatic Pinch Valve will be pressurized through the pressure relief section by a minimum differential pressure of 2 bar air supply over medium pressure. When the medium pressure in the pipeline increases, the Pinch Valve start to open and the overpressure passes trough the bypass and the Pinch Valve.
The rising and falling pressures can be controlled over pressure switches.
Type LV (if control air is available) and Type LNV (if control air is not available) are especially designed to handle products with solids, paste and fibers.

Reliable Pressure Relief:
Hayward Pressure Relief Valves protect piping system components from damage due to over pressurization. The valves work by sensing system pressure. When the system pressure exceeds the set pressure, the force of the excess pressure moves the valve piston off its seat to relieve the excess pressure and diverts some of the flow out the discharge port.
Easy to Set Pressure:
Hayward Pressure Relief Valves can be set by hand, no tools are needed, to relieve pressures from 5 to 75 PSI. Each size of relief valve is designed to cover this complete pressure range with just one, non-wetted, plastic coated spring. There is no need to change springs for different pressure ranges as with ordinary relief valves.
Molded Gauge Port:
An integrally molded 1/4" NPT gauge port on the valve body makes installation of a gauge to monitor the relief pressure easy. No drilling or extra fittings are needed.
No Corrosion Failure:
These all plastic relief valves have no metal parts and will never fail, jam or stick because of rusted or corroded components. They require no painting or epoxy coatings to survive corrosive environments.

The RV-5200 and RV-5300 Series operate as either a relief valve or low flow back pressure regulators. Adjustments are made through a non-rising stem available with an attractive knob, plain to allow insulation of OEM knobs, or flush for "back panel" applications. A typical application would be the use of a unit between a compressor and a load to prevent the compressor from "loading up" when dead-ended.

Pilot Operated Relief Valve
In the mid-1940s, a new relief valve actuated with a pilot rather than a spring set a new standard for pressure control. The valve, manufactured over the years by companies like Garrett, USI, Axelson, and NUFLO, is now manufactured and sold by Cameron's Measurement Systems division. The NuFlo pilot-operated pressure relief valve is an example of a tradition of advanced design and high-quality manufacturing abilities. These valves offer advantages not found in other relief valves - spring or pilot operated.

Donadon SCD is a concave rupture disc with micro-scored calibrated section. Special feature of SCD is scoring in 6 sectors instead of 4 as usual in all competitors discs.
Opening in 6 petals allows a better opening reducing the risk of petal detachment even at high bursting pressure.
It is used with gas and liquids also in cycling and pulsating conditions without reduction of safety margins.
SCD disc reacts to excessive pressure in a few milliseconds without fragmentation.
It is especially suited for protection of pressure relief valves.
SCD disc may operate at 85% of the bursting pressure and has a very good resistance to corrosion due to the thickness pf the material employed. Corrosion resistance may be additionally improved by PTFE lining.
Vacuum support is normally not required.
Available in special execution certified Ex II 2GD according to European Directive 94/9/CE (ATEX).

Rotary syphons have many advantages that permit their use at slow to moderate speeds. Since a rotary syphon moves with the rotating cylinder, it can be placed closer to the cylinder shell thereby reducing the level of condensate inside the cylinder. Kadant Johnson offers various types of rotating syphons including the conventional single syphon, the Rotocurve bent pipe rotary syphon and the LDR low differential rotary syphon.

Rupture discs and Safety valves may be used independently as primary safety devices or in conjunction.
Possible combinations are:
Disc and PSV in parallel: the disc is a second safety device in order to increase equipment safety (usually the rupture pressure of the disc is slightly above the setting of the valve). Typical application: liquefied gas tanks
Disc downstream a PSV in order to protect the PSV from corrosive chemicals present in the vent duct
Disc upstream a PSV: this solution allows combining the positive aspects of both devices: tightness of the disc and re-closure of the valve. In addition the discs protects the valve from corrosive or scaling process fluids, reducing the maintenance required by the more expensive and sensitive device. Main advantages are:
Protection of the valve from aggressive or scaling fluids
Avoid leakage due to valve scaling or corrosion (very important for dangerous fluids)
Reduce maintenance (cleaning, calibration)
Reduce the cost of the valve by using less expensive materials
Test the correct performance of the valve without plant shut-down and valve dismounting
The rupture pressure of the discs is the same of the setting of the valve; build up of pressure in the space between the disc and the valve must be monitored and avoided
