The encoders of the FIELD BUSSES series are absolute Single-turn or Multi-turn rotary shaft encoders with an interface to connect to field bus systems according to the PROFIBUS, INTERBUS, CANopen, DeviceNet or Ethernet standard.
PROFIBUS: PROcess FIeldBUS (in according to EN50170 vol.2 Standard), was one of the first open bus for constructors. DP VERSION is oriented to fast switch of a reduced number of data in automation sector.
CANopen: Controller Area Network; transmission protocol to message oriented. Used in automotive sector.
DeviceNet: field bus similar to CANopen, but much more open and with more restrictive specifications.
InterBus: first open bus realized in the world ( in according to EN50254 and IEC 61158 Standard). It is able to realize real-time functions. |

| Foundation Fieldbus H1 level has been designed as a digital replacement of the 4 to 20mA standard in the process industries. Foundation Fieldbus is also a LAN (Local Area Network) for instruments used in both process and manufacturing automation with built-in capability to distribute the control application across the network. The physical wiring is also fully compatible with intrinsic safety (IS) or nonincendive wiring standards and may be used in hazardous, as well as general purpose areas. In hazardous areas standard explosion-proofing or power limited concepts may be used, as well as IS concepts, offering greater cabling design flexibility. |

* PMC100TX - 10/100BaseTX Ethernet Module :
The PMC 100TX is a high performance ethernet controller PMC module providing connection to a 10baseT or 100BaseTX network. It uses the PCnet-Fast+ and NetPHY-1 chipset from AMD. Connection to the network is via a low profile RJ45 style connector on the PMC front panel. Comprehensive software support is available for Windows 9x , NT, 2000 and VxWorks.
* PMC100FX - 100BaseFX Fibre Ethernet Controller :
The PMC 100Fx is a PMC Module providing a high performance ethernet controller for connection to a fibre network. It is available in two forms, multi-mode which has a range of up to 5 Kilometers or single mode which is capable of driving distances up to 46Km with suitable fibre. It uses the PCnet-Fast and NetPHY-1 chipset from AMD and connects to the fibre via an SC connector on the PMC front panel. ST connectors are available to special order. This connector is angled at 34° to the module ensuring minimum bending of the attached fibre. |
