TMC454
Description
1-axis stepper motion controller with S-ramps and encoder feedback
The TMC454 is the direct successor of the TMC453 and is 100% software compatible.
The TMC454 is a high-end motor controller for all common 2-, 3-, and 5-phase stepper motors. It provides encoder feedback for high reliability or high position resolution drives. A large set of motion control features is included on this IC. The various function blocks are hardwired and „ready-to-use“. All processes can be serialized using the instruction based interface. A complete linear & S-shaped ramp generation unit is integrated within the TMC454. All dynamic parameters can be adjusted for a given application in a very broad range. The CPU is relieved from all time critical tasks like ramp calculation or microstep generation. Thus CPU and software engineer can focus on higher level motion control
jobs. In many applications, the TMC454 reduces the time time-to-market, and it saves costs for software development and hardware engineering. The TMC454 turns stepper motors into easy to use peripherals!
The TMC454 is upwards function compatible to its predecessor TMC453.

As a result of their modular design, the 1R.5 slipring rotor motors (US: wound-rotor motors) can be produced with various cooling systems. This means that the motors can be flexibly adapted to the customers's application.
The enclosed slipring compartment – located inside the NDE bearings – guarantees a high degree of protection for the complete motor, i.e. for the motor and slipring compartment.

Properties of the three-phase AC motors

FHA-C mini Series Servo Actuators, combining precision Harmonic Drive gearing with AC servo motors, offer unique features unsurpassed by conventionally geared drives. Sine-commutated AC servo motors provide smooth torque without the brush wear or commutation limit associates with DC servo actuators. PILine® - Ultimate Motion in the Smallest Package:
PILine® M-661- and M-662-series piezo motor linear slides are the smallest high-speed piezo-motor-driven translation stages currently available on the market.
Working Principle:
M-661 and M-662 linear stages have a new, patented, ultrasonic drive developed by PI. The highly compact, integrated P-661 piezomotor drive can provide accelerations of up to 20 g and velocities of 500 mm/s and more, together with high resolution and holding force. Because the ceramic stator is pressed against a slider of the stage, piezomotors resist motion with an intrinsic holding force when the stage is at rest. The result is very high position stability without the heat dissipation common with conventional linear motors. Furthermore, there are no gears, leadscrews or other mechanical components to contribute play or backlash.

The development kit DVK90109 has been developed by Melexis to create specific applications using 125 kHz protocols and to evaluate the advantages of the MLX90109 transceiver IC.
The DVK90109 results of the combination of the development board DVKRFID and the evaluation board EVB90109. The EVB90109 is plugged on the DVKRFID through a 10 pins connector (including Coil, VCC and Ground) and controlled by the microcontroller ATMEGA128.
A set of commands has been elaborated by Melexis to define the communication between the Computer and the evaluation board EVB90109.
