BM series are asynchronous, three phase, self-braking. BM series power range is from 0.06 kW up to 11 kW. The motor brakes in case of power supply supplier failure. The brake supply is DC as standard with the rectifier built in the terminal container. On request is possible to have a separate brake supply. The rectifier is supplied with an over-voltage and radio frequency emission protection.
BM series is projected to withstand high overheating guaranteeing high reliability, also under severe operating conditions.
BM series is suitable to be controlled by inverters. The winding insulation class is F. Class H available on request.
Motor enclosure is TEFC, IP54 protection degree (IP55/IP56 available on request). An hexagonal hole is present on the shaft end to allow manual rotation (up to 132 frame size). All the BM series motors can be provided with the brake hand release.
Shields and flanges are aluminium made for motors up to 90 frame size, and cast iron for motor frame size from 100 up to 132. On request 132 frame size motors can be supplied with cast iron frame.
BM series main features are a robust construction, an extremely silent running and braking, the gradual braking action and motor starting, and a notable compactness in dimensions. All MGM motors are CSA approved.

The brake supply is AC as standard. On request is available a DC brake (the rectifier is enclosed in the conduit box) and or a separate brake supply.

BA series is suitable to be controlled by inverters. The winding insulation class is F. Class H available on request.

The IEC-normalized BN motors comply with all the applicable international standards, including the EMC and LV Directives. They are available in the 0.06 - 30 kW range in the foot and the flange mounting version, the latter in both the IM B5 and the IM B14 configuration. Delphi ATDC series self-braking motors use spring-pressure brakes, firmly spliced onto a cast iron shield at the back of the motor.
These motors include:
+ The hand release lever that permits to release the brake, making it possible to move the shaft.
+ The separate brake switched mode power supply that is achieved, whenever needed, by connecting directly to the brake terminal board located inside the motor terminal case.
+ The PTO thermal protectors in the winding

PETER electronic has added the compact type series VersiBrake 230/400-25 L (LP) to its tried and tested product line of electronic DC brakes. The device, which features an upgraded power section designed for a rated device current of 25 A, is available either as a housing version or as a circuit-board version for rated motor currents up to 12.5 A. In preparation for the certification by the German Trade Association (Technical Committee for Wood), VersiBrake 230/400-25L (LP) already now meets the association's requirements for category 2 acc. to EN 954-1. VersiBrake 230/400-25 L (LP) features double safety protection: i.e., control via motor contactor and motor voltage detection. In addition, a surge suppressor circuit and a braking current infinitely variable between 0 and the rated device current reduces the failure probability of the braking device and thus indirectly that of the machines, too. An integrated overload monitoring function, which, if the braking frequency is too high, prevents motor restart, provides safety both for the VersiBrake and the operator. The integrated and adaptable motor standstill detection gives the user flexibility with regard to the motor types available.
