The Kardex Shuttle® XPCrane offers all the same benefits as a miniload system but with 100% more flexibility, greater scope for future expansion and superior cubic utilisation of space.
Principle
The Kardex Shuttle XPcrane Vertical Lift Module (VLM) is an enclosed system of vertically arranged trays, an extraction platform and a series of computerized controls that allow operators to stay in one location while up to millions of items can be delivered automatically (Patent Pending).
This system is comprised of a series of vertical modules with one central crane delivering items to an ergonomically positioned workstation.
KARDEX Shuttle XPcrane VLM can consist of up to 12 single modules and have a storage capacity of 5.200 m² with footprint of only 74 m²

The Shuttle® XPmultiple consists of two independent modular high-bay systems arranged in tandem. Trays are transported from the rear system to the front system – and vice versa – by transfer unit. Items are then removed by the operator from the access window. Speed of delivery from request to actual delivery is extremely fast. Internal pre-order picking reduces the waiting time even further. The system can be controlled by Kardex PowerPick® software which allows items to be managed and controlled in preparation for storage and retrieval.
The Shuttle® XPmultiple is ideal where it is impossible to install two separate systems. Deep, awkward, narrow spaces can be used to their full capacity and routes reduced by having only one access opening. The space required for movement is cut by 50% when compared to individual systems and whilst an order is being picked at the access window, the system is preparing the next tray for delivery in the background.
The modular structure of the Shuttle® XPmultiple ensures almost infinite versatility whilst exploiting different room heights. Every Shuttle® XPmultiple can be used as a stand-alone unit and depending upon requirements can be expanded to form a composite system and extended where and when necessary
