This system is formed by a central aisle along which a stacker crane travels. Two racks, built at either side, are used to store boxes or trays. The picking and handling area is formed by conveyors and is positioned at one end or at the side of the racking. Here, the stacker crane deposits the load extracted from the rack. The conveyors then take the box to the operator and once the job has been completed, the box is returned to the stacker crane which then places it back in the racking. The whole system is controlled by a warehouse management programme which registers the location of all the materials in the warehouse and keeps an inventory in real time.
These warehouses can be double or single depth. Double-depth warehouses enable storage of two levels deep in each location, which is ideal for companies that seek a balance between storage capacity and rapid handling.
Within the category of automated warehouses for boxes, Mecalux has created the automated IN-A-BOX warehouse. This is a simple and standard automated storage system for boxes which includes in a single product the racking, machinery, P&D station and the warehouse management software.

The need to maximise the surface area in warehouses has led to the development of stacker cranes, designed to work in very narrow aisles and at heights above 30 metres.
Their vertical and horizontal speed and their automated operation triple the capacity of pallet extraction and handling.
The stacker cranes are guided by a profile fitted on the racks above the crane and by a rail anchored to the floor.
The racks can be double- or single-depth. Double-depth racking enables two levels of storage depth in each storage space, thus maximising capacity.

Order picking systems based on the goods-to-operator principle are increasingly integrated into logistic concepts.

Dematic multi-shuttle the answer to the trends in the Intralogistik: a modular, scalable high speed camp and Kommissioniersystem, which adapt to special requirements flexibly.
Its throughput can be scaled within wide ranges. It is available in two variants:
Dematic multi-shuttle Captive - for a high goods throughput in Kommissionier and consolidation buffers.
Dematic multi-shuttle Roaming - for storage systems with lower to middle envelope achievement however high requirements at flexibility.
In simulations it was determined that already a plant with four shuttles exceeds the achievement of a shelf control device.

Short Cut Pasta Storage and Conveying Plants
The exclusive system for the construction of the silos is based on a sturdy load-bearing metal structure, properly designed (calculated and statically dimensioned) to withstand the loads due to the ensiling of the products with the highest specific weight, taking into account all the expected higher loads due to the actual or expected feeding systems (Belt or Bucket Conveyors).
A new system for securing the panels, exclusive by Cusinato, prevents the formation of fissures caused by natural expansions and ambient temperature differences thus eliminating the problem of infiltrations or retention of products.
This structural philosophy makes it possible to eliminate the panels from the support function so that the silo can keep its shape without distortions throughout its life while, at the same time, achieving the highest degree of hygiene inside each cell.
The storage installations are provided with automatic load systems using bucket conveyors (or, upon specific request on behalf of the customer, of mobile belt conveyors), such as to offer complete flexibility of routing and in the combinations of the loads of the cells.
Each cell is provided with a stainless steel spiral (available in several versions, diameters and capacities), with an exclusive design purposely devised and improved through the years so as to carry and deposit the product during the load stage without damage and offering the most economical use of the cells.

CUBE is an automatic distribution machine to store materials of small and average dimension. Minimum noise, reduced power consumption and modern design make its application good in point of sale and in warehouses servicing the public. It can work by single pick bays, by superimposed bays, positioned on the machine front or back side. It differs by the loading capacity of the trays in order to satisfy different needs. The external sizes of the modules do not change L 115”x H 110”. The Kardex Industriever is an automated computer controlled vertical carousel which can operate both as a central inventory store or as an online materials handling solution.
The Industriever requires only a few square meters of floor space and makes full use of the available ceiling height with its compact and rugged design. The "Goods to man" principle of automated order picking saves operators countless time consuming trips to and from rows of static shelving bays or even worse mezzanine floors.
The combined use of advanced control and software systems substantially reduces pick times and improves stock accuracy enormously.
