Hines manufactures dynamic balancing machines for turbocharger rotors. Hines has the technology to make a balancing machine to handle your process, whether you need a balancer for a manual operation or you are producing parts at a production level and need automatic balancing equipment for your superchargers. The right balancer for your application depends on the production level or through put required. All Hines balancing machines are hard bearing which means they are permanently calibrated and rugged enough for on-machine drilling correction.

HIGH SPEED BALANCERS
The ABRO HR Series has worked with M/S MAN Turbo to balance rotors at speeds of up to 18,000 RPM and achieve low vibration levels that were never thought to be possible. Those days are gone when in order to meet to meet specifications like API-612 on high speed balancing machine, one must employ API deviations. On the HR series you can meet all existing balancing and vibrations standards for turbines, compressors and armatures.
The ABRO high speed balancing machines combine high rigidity with high sensitivity. Site conditions can be created by selecting the desired stiffness and if necessary by using the actual bearings of the rotor. Therefore, accurate low speed and high speed balancing is possible for rotors with widely varying weights and speeds.
Here are some examples of high speed balancers manufactured by ABRO.
Balancing Turbomolecular Pumps at 90,000RPM
An ABRO soft bearing balancing machine has been supplied for the balancing of turbomolecular pumps in a vacuum level of 0.01m bar.
Burst testing of jobs in a spin pit
ABRO has manufactured an integral high-speed balancing machine and spin pit. This facility would be used to test jobs for their mechanical strength. Parts are run to high-speed till they disintegrate (burst). The machine is provided with 5 annular rings for containment of bursted particles.
Facility for balancing completely assembled motors
ABRO has developed a facility to balance completely assembled motors on the HR series high speed balancing machines which have high rigidity and sensitivity. Motors weighing 10 Ton can be balanced on the HR-5K machine at a speed of 3000 RPM without encountering any pedestal resonance.

UNIVERSAL HORIZONTAL BALANCING MACHINE
MACHINE SETTING
Unlike soft bearing machines, which have complicated calibration procedures, in ABRO 'hard bearing' machines the procedure is extremely simple. After mounting the job on the machine, one has simply to feed the following:
(1) balancing speed desired;
(2) job configuration in use;
(3) the job dimensions a,b,c,rL and rR.
The machine is now ready for operation. Nothing else has to be done.
MACHINE OPERATION
The basic design of the ABRO machines makes their operation very simple. Besides, the auxiliary equipment is a further help, e.g. in the case of crankshaft, multiplane electronic units giving the unbalance simultaneously for various correction planes that lie on the counterweights ; pneumatic job clamping and raising devices facilitate drilling on the machine, drilling on the machine, drilling units with electrical traversing and automatic positioning, complete with chip suction arrangements add up to make balancing simpler and faster. Similarly, for other applications, ABRO offer a variety of auxiliary equipment. Therefore, to get the most suitable solution, spell your exact requirement to ABRO.
SPECIAL APPLICATION & ADVANTAGES
For high accuracy balancing
Synchronised filters automatically track the balancing speed by photoelectric scanning, completely eliminating all disturbing vibrations. This also ensures that speed changes do not affect readings, thus giving the most reliable and accurate results.
Surface belt-drive machines are offered, when necessary, to eliminate parasitic unbalances due to the eccentricities and unbalances of drive shafts, adaptors etc. of the end-drive machines.

The Hines HO (Horizontal Overhung) Balancer can be used for both single and two plane balancing. The configuration supports workpieces on a built-in spindle. Pulleys and shafts and special drivebelts are not needed. This allows for easier and quicker part handling and tooling than conventional balancing machines. Unbalance corrections are displayed on the first spin of a new part.

PRODUCTION MACHINE FOR AUTO PROP SHAFTS
High accuracy
The offered machine has very high sensitivity and balancing level of 0.5 cm.g are achievable depending upon mechanical stability of jobs. (This may be considered only as a notional advantage as it is not possible to make propeller shafts with nearly zero clearance and tolerance).
Quick Changeover (low set up time)
Low set up time (both electronic and mechanical) are possible. In cases of the electronic system, only a new rotor code has to be keyed in. Alternatively 6 dials have to be set to precept levels. In case of mechanical set up, it is easy to change spigot locator. When changing from front end to rear end shafts, the spindle has to be swung out and rollers brought in; by rotation or by sliding (time is about 2 minutes only).
Isotropic Design
For production machine type HCS, ABRO offer isotropic design both for Hard Bearing and Soft Bearing systems. This simulates actual working conditions and gives high accuracy and ease of operation.
