Our industrial disc brakes are designed to operate in the most arduous conditions, typically in the steel industry where the operating environment is extreme, and the professional container industry where reliable operation all year round is expected.
Twiflex brakes are often specified for the main manufacturers of hoist, acting as service brakes mounted on the input shaft and as emergency brakes mounted on the output shaft or directly on the main professional drum

| The hydraulic professional shoe industrial brakes are spring released and hydraulically set for controlled stopping. Applications such as indoor and outdoor bridge industrial cranes are just some of the examples. These proven high performance brake systems are tough, reliable and provide trouble free service. Brake wheel sizes ranging from 6 inches to 18 inches are available. Brakes are available either with standard hydraulic setting, setting with parking feature or with air powered hydraulic operation. The powered systems may be direct or remote controlled. Air professional remote control, hydraulic remote control, and electric remote control allow the customer the flexibility to satisfy most requirements. |

RINGSPANN- Disc Brakes can be used for various functions, i.e.
as a parking brake it prevents the unintended start of a stationary shaft;
as a stopping brake it brings a rotating shaft to a standstill in a short time, even when this is only in connection with a power failure or emergency stop;
as a control brake it maintains a certain tension in the material.
Brake callipers or brake saddles may be arranged in any position on disc brakes of varying diameters. By using several brake callipers on the same disc it is possible to increase the brake torque without the need to enlarge the installation dimensions to any great extend. All brakes are available with an electric wear indicator and with automatic wear adjustment.

Design principle of the pneumatically and electromagnetically systems
The linear brake systems consist of the brake module, which is connected to the drive group (carriage, table) that moves, and a steel band, which is held at its ends under tension in special brackets.
This band is aligned parallel to the direction of movement of the drive. The wide sides of the band form the frictional surfaces against which the friction linings of the brake module act.
The force, with which the friction linings are pressed against the band to generate a frictional connection between band and brake module, is spring applied and pneumatically / electromagneticallly released. A number of brake modules can be arranged one behind the other to act on one band. The standard brackets holding the band are designed for a maximum force of 3.000 N per band. The brackets are mounted on the base plate of the linear drive or on the machine frame and serve at the same time for the aligning and pretensioning of the band.

Design Features
- In-Line power applications.
- Smooth controlled engagement.
- Unaffected by centrifugal force.
All Wichita Marine Professional clutch units are
custom built to satisfy marine
classification society requirements.
The Wichita Standard Ventilated Clutch
is usually used in combination with
recognised flexible fittings to provide
reliable in-line power
transmission. The simple air-tube
design, with minimum air volume and
high engagement and disengagement
speeds, is unaffected by centrifugal
force and has no self-energisation like
drum clutch designs.
Ideally suited for high inertia loads such
as main propulsion drives where
smooth controlled starts are needed.

Ausco has raised the standard for mechanical calipers with its new EZTorque ball ramp caliper design. This professional brake produces the highest torque of any caliper in its class. This means more holding power with less user input force. In addition, Ausco makes a wide variety of other mechanical caliper brakes for both service and parking applications.

The Model HC or HCD clutches are designed to be used in either an end of shaft or through shaft mounting configuration. Their compact size makes these units ideal for incorporating within a gear housing. Multiple speed transmissions use a variety of these units to effect fixed mesh speed changes, or they may be used as a stand alone device for disconnect service.
All units incorporate provisions for forced oil cooling allowing high energy engagements to be made without causing themal distress within the disc pack. Cooling oil is introduced from an external supply through axial holes provided in the shaft.
Marine main propulsion forward/reverse or disconnect service, industrial winch disconnects, professional conveyor or mill soft-starts, and multi-speed transmissions are but a few of the applications for the model HC/HCD oil immersed clutches.

Posistop® Oil Shear Brakes are designed to dissipate the heat buildup that destroy conventional braking devices. The Posistop® absorbs the energy generated by the braking action and controls the heat buildup - thus providing greater reliability and repeatability, as well as heat dissipation.

Safety brake for Elevators - Elevation Line
The ELEVATION LINE is comprised of DC operated spring applied single-disc and double disc brakes which comply with the requirements of the European standard EN 81 (safety requirements to be observed in the construction and installation of elevators). Owing to the patented safety concept, the usual checks concerning the double-circuit system of spring-applied brakes can be omitted during the technical approval of the elevators.
The brake is ideally suited for use in space restricted environments where compact systems comprising of a motor, gearbox and brake are required. The ELEVATION LINE is preferably used in the field of industrial elevator construction, but it is also ideal for other applications characterised by stringent requirements in terms of brake safety.
