Permanent Magnet Industrial brakes
Most commonly used on escalators, these brakes use both permanent magnets and magnetic coils to produce torque and control operation.
Electric brakes
Designed for maximum flexibility and long, dependable service, our electric brake is electromagnetically released when voltage is applied and spring-engaged when current is interrupted.
Hilliard Twiflex Series/Shunt Brakes
The Hilliard Corporation and Twiflex Ltd. have applied over 70 years of combined experience to develop the Series/Shunt Caliper Disc Brakes. Designed as a direct replacement for drum brakes, these brakes require no modifications to existing AISE mountings. The design is based on the Twiflex MR-type brake, which has been used successfully for over 40 years in harsh industrial environments worldwide.
SE Caliper Brakes
The SE spring applied and electrically released calipers are designed for medium to heavy stopping and holding applications.

Profile Rail Brake
Nexen's RB Series of linear profile guide rail brakes uses spring force to secure the load in holding applications. Superior response time and high force for stopping and holding in e-stop and power-off situations. Each RB brake clamps supplier directly onto the center of the guide rail to provide positive braking and holding in all axes. These profile rail brakes hold position accurately by eliminating drive train backlash and elasticity.
Nexen's RB Series is engineered for dependable performance. With a revolutionary set of patent pending features, the RB Series provides an industry leading braking solution for linear profile guide rails. If personnel safety is required, an unrelated, redundant safety system is recommended.
Fits 15, 20, 25, 35, and 45 mm Profile Guide Rails |

| Hysteresis Professional brake Dynamometers (HD series) are versatile and ideal for testing in the low to middle power range (max. 14 kW intermittent duty). Hysteresis brakes do not require speed to create torque, and therefore can provide a full motor ramp from free-run to locked rotor. Brake cooling is provided by convection (no external source) or by air (pneumatics or dedicated professional blower) depending on the model. Hysteresis Dynamometers have both continuous and intermittent power ratings where the dynamometer is capable of dissipating more power for shorter periods of time. All Hysteresis Dynamometers have accuracy ratings of ±0.25% to ±0.5% full professional scale, depending on size and system configuration. Also available are special designs for high-speed motor testing. |

The electrodynamic brake type BR 380... allows for wear and tear free braking of three phase and AC asynchonous motors which is achieved by feeding a direct current onto the motor coil.
Upon expiration of the braking time, the braking operation is ended after machine has come to a standstill.
Switching the motor off will introduce the fully automatic braking cycle.

| With safety becoming an increasingly important factor in the design and manufacture of equipment, it has become necessary to add a professional brake to many critical machine functions. In response to that concern, White Drive Products offers the BK10 Series brake. All internal components, including suppliers of roller bearings, brake disks, springs and professional seals were chosen for maximum durability. To further extend the life of the unit and reduce noise, all internal components run in an oil bath. Two brake release ports are also provided to simplify plumbing and bleeding of the brake release circuit during installation. All of these features combine to make the BK10 Series brake the top choice for any static brake application requiring 10,000 lb-in of holding torque. |
|
| Pure Hysteresis brakes produce torque strictly through a magnetic air gap without the use of magnetic particles or friction components. This method of braking provides far superior operating characteristics (smoother torque, longer life, superior repeatability, high degree of controllability, and less maintenance and down time) which make them the preferred choice for precise tension control during the processing of nearly any material, web or strand. |
|
| Hydraulic or pneumatic safety braking - High performance density | Backlash-free force transmission | Applicable in both directions | Brake release without moving the axes |
|
| Four different styles with maximum lever forces ranging from 225-660 lbs. Aluminum or iron construction. Options (depending upon the series selected) include floating bracket and various lever positions. |

Ogura’s multiple disk clutches and brakes come in both a dry or “wet” type. The wet (in oil) type can run approximately 3 times faster than that dry type. This is because the oil helps dissipate heat generated at higher RPMs, but you may find it surprising that the wet type can also produce higher operating torque, both statically and dynamically.
Ogura products are manufactured in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Manufacturing plants are ISO9001, 14001 and TS16949 compliant. Clutches and brakes are RoHS compliant.
UK, European and Scandinavian customers please contact Michel Hehnen at mhehnen@ogura-clutch.com. All other inquiries should go to Jim Andes at jandes@ogura-clutch.com. |
