Ogura’s multiple disk clutches and brakes come in both a dry or “wet” type. The wet (in oil) type can run approximately 3 times faster than that dry type. This is because the oil helps dissipate heat generated at higher RPMs, but you may find it surprising that the wet type can also produce higher operating torque, both statically and dynamically.
Ogura products are manufactured in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Manufacturing plants are ISO9001, 14001 and TS16949 compliant. Clutches and brakes are RoHS compliant.
UK, European and Scandinavian customers please contact Michel Hehnen at mhehnen@ogura-clutch.com. All other inquiries should go to Jim Andes at jandes@ogura-clutch.com.

These work the same as our constant tension stand. They are designed to give constant torque at the surface diameter. As the diameter decreases, the tension remains constant.

Magnetic Technologies Ltd. offers a complete line of hysteresis brakes for tensioning and torque limiting.
• Torque range from 0.1 inch ounce to 140+ inch pounds.
• Hysteresis brakes have no break-away torque, no wearing parts, and use no electricity.

Noga offers four sets combining the most popular holders with the world's best made indicators.
|
|
NOGA is proud to present its new line of holding systems.
These state of the art mechanical holders, are divided into two groups, ARTICULATED and PH, both designed to hold dial and test indicators, as well as many other components.
NOGA holders are also used in many other fields such as: machine construction, medical instruments, photography, light, sound and more.
NOGA holders consist of three main parts:
Arms, base and top (See diagram on right).
NOGA ARTICULATED HOLDERS - articulated arms, with central locking mechanism.
NOGA PH HOLDERS - post and arm, with unique 3 points clamp.
Each group of holders consists of four sizes of arms, so you can always find one to suit your needs.
NOGA holders have fine adjustment mechanism, whether it is on the top (FAT), or at the base (FAB).
The plastic fine adjustment and the 2SM are now replaced by our top fine adjustment which is made of metal, and is the only fine adjustment to hold 6mm, 8mm, 3/8", dove tail and back lug.

Eddy Current clutches give torque as a function of RPM. The faster you turn the rotor, the more torque. This means by increasing or decreasing the RPM, you can get infinite torque adjustment. Typically, we rate the clutch with a gain factor (k), which is gram millimeters/rpm or Newton meters/rpm and we design the clutch to have an operating "slip rpm" between 1 and 300 rpm.
|
|
For every application determine the TORQUE, MAXIMUM RPM, and for brakes, the BENDING MOMENT.
Then you can choose the correct shaft or coupling, and various accessories.
All important internal clearances are ground to tolerances of less than .025mm (.001 in). Magnet Assemblies (purple) surround our hysteresis disc (gold). When like poles face each other, they produce maximum magnetic saturation, forcing lines of flux to travel circumferentially through the hysteresis disc. This produces Maximum torque.
When opposite poles face each other, they produce minimum saturation of the hysteresis disc. The lines of flux travel right through the hysteresis disc. Combinations of adjustment angles between these two extremes gives infinite adjustability. Because there are no contacting surfaces, the setting can be maintained indefinitely.

Your application may lend itself to the use of conical bearings, which can save valuable space by applying both radial and axial forces from the same bearing. SKF has supplied conical bearings capable of handling simultaneous loading up to 8,900 N (2,000 lbf) radial and 17,800 N (4,000 lbf) axial.
The conical bearings shown above provide 350 N (78 lbf) capacity in the radial direction, and 450 N (100 lbf) capacity in the axial direction for a vacuum pump running at 38,500 rpm.

SKF Magnetic Bearings has supplied thrust bearings from 130 to 24,500 N (30 to 5,500 lbf), for shaft diameters ranging from 9 to 130 mm (3/8 to 5 inches). These are installed on machines that have rotational speeds ranging from 1,800 to 100,000 rpm. SKF also supplies canned thrust bearing designs for hermetically sealed applications and thrust bearings for high temperature applications up to 220°C (428°F).
The thrust bearings shown above are 17,000 N capacity (3,800 lbf) for a 12,000 rpm turbocompressor with a 120 mm shaft.
