An airline respirator (also called an air-supplied respirator or supplied air respirator, SAR) is a respirator that is connected to a source of compressed breathing air (such as an air cart or stationary system) via a high-pressure hose. The air is delivered continuously or intermittently in a sufficient volume to meet the wearer's breathing requirements.

Through its Sabre brand Scott Health and Safety was a pioneer of Escape Breathing Apparatus technology. The original concept for the coveted Sabre ELSA - Emergency Life Support Apparatus was developed to help avoid unecessary loss of life, like that seen during the 1982 Falklands war. During this conflict it was found that 90% of fatalities onboard ship died through smoke inhalation. The result of research conducted by Scott Health & Safety led to the development of the 'ELSA', which has now become industry standard terminology for Escape Breathing Apparatus. The ELSA is in now in its third generation and is available in either positive pressure or constant flow models giving 10 or 15 minute escape periods.

Promask 2 Negative Pressure Facemask
Promask2 is a twin filter full facemask providing excpetional balance with minimal pressure against the face. The airflow management utilises the inner mask to prevent the visor from misting and to ensure C02 is flushed rapidly and efficently, reducing wearer fatigue. even for long periods of use. Promask 2 incoporates a wider panoramic visor to maximise the field of vision and a front-mounted speech diaphragm for easy communication with colleagues. Moulded in grey silicone, Promask 2 accepts the Pro2 range of cartridge filters, which have individual covers to maximise working life by protecting the filter media from splashes, sparks and contaminents.

Scott Health & Safety's range of half masks include twin and single filter masks. All Scott half masks use replaceable standard filters for cost-effectiveness. Pro² filter cartridges have a safety bayonet fitting and Pro2000 canisters have a 40 mm thread connection.
