Schneider Electric Motion‘s BDM motors are brushless DC motors that are constructed as electronically commutated 3-phase synchronous motors. The model offers high power delivery and dynamics in a compact design for the most diverse applications. Depending on the requirements, the motors feature a distinct or low self-holding torque, so that there often is no need for a holding brake. The motors can be equipped with various transmissions such as spur or planetary gears depending on the torque and service life requirements. Brushless DC motors are equipped with Hall sensors as standard. For higher positioning resolutions optional encoder systems can be supplied as an alternative.

The typical "inside-out" brushless DC (BLDC) motor provides greater output power, higher operating speeds and cleaner, quieter operation than its brush-type counterparts. BLDC motors are ideal for sterile environments—since there are no brushes, no particulate is discharged. Because of their inherent reliability and long-term service life, BLDC motors can significantly contribute to lower overall cost of operation and maintenance.

Brushless DC Motors and Drives (BLDCM) is a kind of 3-phase induction synchronous motor of permanent magnets with brushless structure. It is compact size and light weight. By adopting electronic commutator, it makes lower mechanical/electrical noise and no high temperature and dust caused by friction. In addition, it won't produce rotor loss due to low inertia of rotor and high-speed operation. Therefore, it saves energy during heavy-load operation and is higher performance than traditional motor. For the BLDC with new technology, it has high-torque output at low speed and self-protection for over-heat, over-current, phase loss and leakage current.

The brushless-DC motors (BLDC) combine speed and accuracy. Used when positioning or speed regulation are critical.

As part of the wide range of AC servomotors proposed by Sanyo Denki, we have identified a series of models, carefully selected from among the most interesting for the Motion Control market, that can be coupled with RS1 drives.
The main characteristics of the motors are listed below:
P2, P3 and Q1 Series Motors: very compact, low inertia. Ideal for applications involving quick acceleration and fast positioning.
P5, P6 and Q2 Series Motors: compact, medium inertia. Ideal for applications in which the load inertia exceeds the motor inertia. Very smooth rotation, even at very low speed.
IP protection degree: IP43 to IP67 (according to the different models).
Power range: 50W to 3000W.
Maximum speed: 4500 rpm (3000 rpm for P5 1kW e P6 1.5kW).
Position sensor: incremental encoder on all models (A, -A, B, -B, C, -C). The real system resolution available is equivalent to 8000 step/rev.
Perfect behavior in overload conditions. E.g.: a torque equal to 200% of the nominal torque can be maintained for 10 to 20 sec. (according to the different models).
Proper management of any loads characterized by a level of inertia that far exceeds the motor inertia.
A complete map of all of the motor’s electrical features is stored in the R drives.

General technical information on TK frameless motors
The TK series of frameless brushless motors provide the highest torque density available today for direct drive, high performance applications. Unlike traditional torque motrs, TK units have both high torque and high speed capability and thus operate seamlessly both as spindle and table motors.
TK motors consist of separately supplied stator and rotor units suitable for direct assembly inside the structure of the machine. TK motors are three phase, rare earth (Iron Neodymium Boron) permanent magnet units and reach the highest continuous and peak torque density available today, together with high speed and flux control ability over a constant power range up to 10:1.
The rotors use special Phase manufactured magnets with minimized loss factor allowing high speed operation with a thin isotropic rotor.
All rotors are rigid units with mechanical, glue free magnet retention, preloaded carbon fiber sleeve for safe operation even at very high speed.
Rotor are often semi custom units to allow direct coupling to bearings, encoders, brakes.
All TK motors are designed for fluid (water) cooling on the outside of the stator for maximum performance. Conduction/convection cooling is also possible. Constant power operation (flux control) always requires water cooling.
Customized frames with integral cooling or even partial machine subassemblies with bearings and encoders are manufactured on request based on the standard frameless magnetic designs available.
The torque range spans from 10 to 40,000 Nm with maximum diameter 1150mm; above that size, segmented semi custom units are available, currently up to 18 m diameter
|
|
Torque motors produce a high torque which acts proportionally with the current and remains practically constant over the whole of the engine's axis of rotation. With torque of up to 480mNm and angles of rotation of 80°, these are eminently suitable for adjustment tasks such as those effected by throttle valves, AGR valves, or variable turbine configurations in exhaust gas turbochargers. Their contact-free function and the option of installing position sensors gives the user a motive power solution with the assurance of all-round availability and safety.
The products of the series 4000 are at present only available for OEM applications.

The TORQUECHAMPION® direct drive system is the new highly dynamic drive system from LTi DRiVES for precise, fast and maintenance-free positioning.
* Its short length and lack of gearing means it takes up a minimal amount of space.
* The peak torque of the MIC motor is available up to the maximum speed, making positioning faster.
* The hollow shaft permits simple feed-through of cables, hoses or laser beams through the motor.
* The integrated measurement system with 8,388,608 increments per revolution and single-turn absolute information means no reference running is required.
* The MTC motor is an external-rotor motor. It can be coupled with a high degree of torsional rigidity without gearing directly to the mechanism. This means it has no gear play and suffers no wear, needs to maintenance and offers very high drive dynamics.
