Smasher: the blending (R)evolution for microbiology laboratories!
A technological step ahead
It is a very long time since significant innovations have been introduced on paddle type lab blenders. The new Smasher launched by AES CHEMUNEX offers plenty of innovative features which every food microbiology laboratory will enjoy.
Thank to its patented SMASH effect, Smasher first crushes the sample in record time and then automatically adjusts the speed to ensure a perfect homogenisation of the enrichment broth. In case of difficult samples (i.e. hard or voluminous samples), Smasher automatically resets the paddles position and retries powerfully several times. The operator doesn't need to reposition the blender bag.
A particular attention has been taken to guarantee an efficient cleaning and disinfection of Smasher: Leak-proof chamber with integrated waste drawer, possibility to tilt it back at 45° if required for improved access. A new improvement allows the user to remove the paddles within 2 seconds without any tools! - Last but not least, Smasher is about 20 times quieter than all other bag blenders available on the market.

Brevini's range of mixer drives are planetary gear units modified to meet the operating requirements of water conditioners and of mixers in chemical, ceramic and paper producing industries. The mixer drives combine the traditional advantages of Brevini's planetary technology - compactness and high efficiency - with the characteristics of strength and reliability.
The flexibility of the mixer drive design provides users with a number of construction options, including in-line and right-angle configurations, and the facility to directly mount a motor to the gearbox via a flange. Alternatively, a male input shaft configuration may be used with connection effected by a flexible coupling or pulley.

Mechanical seals are used for the sealing of rotating shafts against a stationary housing, e.g. in pumps and agitators. The stationary" part of the seal is usually located at the housing, the rotating" part is fixed on the shaft. The high-precision face-machined sliding faces rotate axially in opposition. The sliding faces are pressed against each other by means of spring force, thus preventing the opening of the seal. The seal faces are statically sealed against the housing and the shaft by secondary seals (O-rings). With the entry of the pumped medium into the minimal sealing gap a lubricating film is generated and the sealing effect is thus obtained.
The design, arrangement and combination of materials of the seal is basically determined by pressure, temperature, speed of rotation and quality of the pumped medium. Shaft diameters of 5...500 mm, pressures from 10 torr ....250 bar, temperatures from -200°C... +450°C and sliding velocities up to 150 m/s limit the operating range of mechanical seals. Additional seal supply systems or buffer fluid systems may be required, dependent on the mode of operation, the quality of the medium and the seal arrangement.

The overhead drive prevents the escape of any hazardous gases during agitation.

Small shaker hearth furnaces type Vi are mainly used for hardening parts that, because of their small size, would cause handling problems on a mesh belt or when production volume is too small to justify the use of a mesh belt furnace.
This type of furnace is ideally suited for watch parts, fine mechanical parts, sewing and knitting needles and similar.
Typical heat treatment applications, at temperature up to 950 °C include:
- Hardening or case hardening, with oil or polymer quench.
- Austempering and Martempering with hot oil or salt bath quench.

The RSU (Reformate Supply Unit) is a gas mixing station that can prepare a hydrogen rich stream suitable to feed into fuel cells of different types, such as Pem, high temperature PEM, SOFC, etc. It can also be used to test other fuel cell related components such as shift and prox reactors.

The MICRO-FLOW Sensor is a flow detecting device, used within a semi or fully automated metering process, to detect whether material has been dispensed.
The MICRO-FLOW Sensor does not control the metering volume. It is used particularly when handling unfilled grease with NLGI class 1 to 3, high viscosity oils or silicone-oils.
The MICRO-FLOW Sensor can be adapted to the DOPAG Micro and Mini metering valve as well as to the 417 range of the metering valves.
