VX supports a full range of material handling and cutting techniques to allow complex milling in 3D. The 2 Axis milling Tactic provides a rich set of tool paths for rough stock removal and surface finishing. It also provides the means for the operator to make holes or cut access holes with professional drills or mill tools. 3 Axis milling provides several families of tool paths based on different algorithms for positioning the tool. Because of VX's ability to maintain complete associativity and synchronization with the 3D product model the manufacturing information can be updated directly from the design data. Process definition and NC programming can begin sooner and design changes are much easier to accommodate. The result is increased productivity and improved quality.

FP CAM / CAMPLUS
FP CAM is the office program for designing the machining operations to be performed by the machining centres. It is a general version while CAMPLUS is customized for Emmegi machining centres. FP CAM simplifies application of the machining operations, offering a 3D display the profile and the tool; it also presents the most frequently used parametric figures (holes, slots, rectangles, etc.). With the added SHAPE program, you are free to design figures of any shape. Using the DRIVER-CAD option, FP CAM lets you import pieces designed with commercial CAD 3D programs (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.). The machining operations designed are compatible with the FP PRO EASYMAC system and are thus assigned the necessary professional fittings so that, when calculating the job, it can produce a machine-ready work list. |

GibbsCAM Data Exchange
GibbsCAM supports a wide variety of data exchange formats enabling data to be read from just about any source. Basic GibbsCAM packages provide support for DXG, DWG and IGES formats. GibbsCAM solids-based packages support the Parasolid format and can directly read native model files from Solid Edge and SolidWorks. Numerous other data formats are supported through other optional data exchange options. With GibbsCAM you will never have to turn-away a job because you can't read in the CAD data.
DXF/DWG
Primarily used as an exchange format by drafting systems, such as AutoCAD, DXF/DWG is often used with 2-/2.5-axis production parts. Depending on the supported level of geometry, GibbsCAM can directly read in wireframe, surface and solid geometry contained in DXF/DWG files. Geometry can also be exported from GibbsCAM in DXF and DWG formats.
IGES and VDA-FS
A popular, well-known exchange format, IGES is often used by CAD systems to transfer surface geometry. GibbsCAM can directly read or write IGES format files containing wireframe and surface geometry. With a solids-based module, GibbsCAM can also read IGES solids. GibbsCAM can optionally read the German Automotive Association's VDA-FS data format for trimmed surfaces.
STEP AP203/AP214
As a next generation product data exchange format, STEP files are usually used to transfer solid model data. When support for the native solid model format is not available, STEP provides an excellent way to transfer solid model data to and from GibbsCAM. With the Solid Exchange Built on Granite option, solids-based GibbsCAM modules can read and write files in STEP AP203 and AP214 format.
Autodesk Inventor
Solids-based GibbsCAM modules can optionally read native Autodesk Inventor model files. An add-in for Inventor is offered, which allows Inventor models to be transferred directly to GibbsCAM from within the Inventor session, dramatically streamlining the transfer process. A similar add-in also is available for the Mechanical Desktop. GibbsCAM is certified under the Autodesk Inventor Certified Application Program.
Solid Edge
Solids-based GibbsCAM modules can directly read native Solid Edge model files. An add-in for Solid Edge is offered, which allows Solid Edge models to be transferred directly to GibbsCAM from within the Solid Edge session, dramatically streamlining the transfer process. GibbsCAM is a Solid Edge Voyager Certified Select Product.
SolidWorks
