Tebis CAD/CAM stations are tailored to the special needs of die, mold and pattern manufacturers. We can combine different CAD and CAM modules on the same Tebis workstation, depending on your range of functions and components. While Tebis systems consisting of only CAD stations or only CAM stations are available, over 85 % of all our workstations worldwide have a combined CAD/CAM design.
Advantages of the combined workstations include:
* Check the quality of imported surface and solid data in seconds
* Correct inaccuracies quickly and with a minimum of fuss
* Add all necessary components quickly and easily
* Design complete die layouts based on CAD product data
* Combine surface and solid data using any digitized data (meshes)
* Fully automatic or interactive calculation of all necessary milling strategies
* Reuse intermediate NC processing results such as updated blanks in CAD processes
* Calculate high-precision milling programs that are suitable for high-speed cutting (HSC)
* Feature-supported NC programming for 2.5D drilling and milling

CAM Compatibility
Many control systems on the market have some kind of CAM capability, but some are more trouble than they’re worth. All CAD geometry is eventually reduced to a triangulated surface in order to generate CAM data for a control.
The quality of the surface depends on the resolution of the triangles. The control then has to deal with the problem of cutting to a tolerance from whatever CAM data it receives.
There are three components that impact CAM data quality—which ultimately affects surface finish:
* uniformity of segments: whether the segments are uniformly distributed along the contour
* segment angles: the changes in the angle between segments
* data resolution: whether the resolution of the data points introduces computational errors
If you loosen the tolerance when you generate the CAM data, the segments will deviate further from the ideal curve.
Since the Hurco DXF Transfer is transforming the geometry into a conversational program, there is practically no loss of data. The Hurco control interpolates arcs and provides a parameter that lets the programmer define the chordal deviation for this type of interpolation.
When you simply have a 2D CAD design, use Hurco’s DXF Transfer feature to easily import your CAD image into Hurco’s control to create any 2D contour, frames, circles, and simple 3D contours from 2D geometry that can be translated or rotated about an axis. You can also program hole locations.

GibbsCAM Data Exchange
GibbsCAM supports a wide variety of data exchange formats enabling data to be read from just about any source. Basic GibbsCAM packages provide support for DXG, DWG and IGES formats. GibbsCAM solids-based packages support the Parasolid format and can directly read native model files from Solid Edge and SolidWorks. Numerous other data formats are supported through other optional data exchange options. With GibbsCAM you will never have to turn-away a job because you can't read in the CAD data.
DXF/DWG
Primarily used as an exchange format by drafting systems, such as AutoCAD, DXF/DWG is often used with 2-/2.5-axis production parts. Depending on the supported level of geometry, GibbsCAM can directly read in wireframe, surface and solid geometry contained in DXF/DWG files. Geometry can also be exported from GibbsCAM in DXF and DWG formats.
IGES and VDA-FS
A popular, well-known exchange format, IGES is often used by CAD systems to transfer surface geometry. GibbsCAM can directly read or write IGES format files containing wireframe and surface geometry. With a solids-based module, GibbsCAM can also read IGES solids. GibbsCAM can optionally read the German Automotive Association's VDA-FS data format for trimmed surfaces.
STEP AP203/AP214
As a next generation product data exchange format, STEP files are usually used to transfer solid model data. When support for the native solid model format is not available, STEP provides an excellent way to transfer solid model data to and from GibbsCAM. With the Solid Exchange Built on Granite option, solids-based GibbsCAM modules can read and write files in STEP AP203 and AP214 format.

COSMOSWorks provides simple, accurate design analysis that leads to better products by giving designers a safety net for catching errors. Designers are free to innovate, secure in the knowledge that they won't pass costly mistakes down the line.
Complete integration with SolidWorks® 3D product design software means that COSMOSWorks users can perform design analysis, simulation and optimization directly from their SolidWorks user interface.
COSMOSWorks enables faster, less costly, and more optimized product development, as well as more in-depth examination of product performance than would ever be possible using even the most detailed prototypes.
Available in the following packages, COSMOSWorks can be expanded as your analysis needs grow and change:
Designer - Fully embedded inside the SolidWorks interface, COSMOSWorks Designer utilizes the SolidWorks FeatureManager® and many of the same mouse and keyboard commands, so anyone who can design a part in SolidWorks can analyze it without having to learn a new interface. COSMOSWorks Designer contains the most
frequently used design validation tools, offering stress, strain, and displacement analysis capabilities for both parts and assemblies at a very affordable price.
Professional - COSMOSWorks Professional offers a wide spectrum of powerful tools to help engineers who are familiar with design validation concepts to perform virtual testing and analysis of parts and assemblies. Engineers who need more specific design analysis capabilities can use COSMOSWorks Professional to predict the physical behavior of practically any part or assembly under any loading condition.
Advanced Professional Finite Element Analysis - One of the most comprehensive and sophisticated finite element analysis packages available, COSMOSWorks Advanced Professional offers seasoned analysts a tremendous range of finite element analysis capabilities at a fraction of the cost of most high-end FEA programs.

PhotoWorks software enables SolidWorks® users to quickly and predictably create photorealistic images that rival those of studio-based photography.
PhotoWorks offers a host of professional features to help you convey reality
Relevant Materials - PhotoWorks offers the most complete set of Machine and Consumer Product Design materials of any CAD package in the industry. PhotoWorks is completely integrated into SolidWorks so there is no translation necessary between modeling and rendering. Materials include polished, satin, brushed and sandblasted metals, Gloss white and Moldtech like textured plastics, Reflective, translucent, and bead-blasted glass just to name a few. All of these materials are ready to use and have been optimized for maximum realism without the need to tweak them.
Drag and Drop - All materials are drag and drop from the Resource Pane. Texture based materials can be dynamically scaled, rotated and repositioned in the SolidWorks window for quick and easy application. All PhotoWorks materials can be modified and saved by the user to create customized materials.
Pre-Defined HDRI Scenes - PhotoWorks includes a number of pre-defined scenes that are based on HDR (high dynamic range) images. These types of scenes contribute very realistic lighting to your SolidWorks models and forego the need to create and adjust SolidWorks lights making it very simple and easy to quickly achieve photo-realism.

Radan Design to Manufacture (DTM) Transfer is a handy utility that simplifies the transfer of both 2D & 3D data from third party CAD packages to Radan manufacturing systems.
Operating on the CAD workstation, DTM Transfer extracts both 2D & 3D data from any open model and seamlessly transfers it into Radan – either directly, or via a file. Files saved from DTM Transfer can be emailed or copied as normal, making transfer to other workstations or organisations as simple as possible.
DTM Transfer is available to Radan users and other organisations using compatible CAD packages, who need to transfer data to Radan manufacturing systems. DTM extracts both 2D and 3D data from the CAD system. The 2D data may be read by all Radan systems and the 3D data by systems incorporating Radan 3D.
DTM is able to transfer from the following CAD packages to Radan:
* Autodesk Inventor (4 & later, but with some restrictions in Inventor 4)
* Solidworks (2001 & later)
* Mechanical Desktop (4 & later)
* AutoCAD (R2000 & later)
* TopSolid (6.5)
* Solid Edge
