Calibration Baths
The JULABO calibration baths are perfectly suitable for applications in calibration laboratories and conform to the requirements specified by DIN ISO 9001:2000. The instruments provide highest temperature stability to ±0.005 °C and temperature uniformity better than ±0.01 °C. The series include models with cooling units for working temperature ranges from -30 to +200 °C as well as calibration baths for temperature ranges from +50 to +300 °C. Reference temperature measurements can be carried out with an additional precision reference sensor. This saves additional costs of a digital thermometer.

Liquid and odd/big size sensor calibration
Two models of the ATC series (ATC-140 and ATC-250) fitted with a 160 mm deep well with a diameter of 63.5 mm (2.5 in) can be used both as dry-block calibrators and as liquid calibration baths with a magnetic stirrer.
A liquid bath and a dry-block diameter of 63.5 mm (2.5 in), which is twice the size of any other JOFRA dry-block, are both new in the JOFRA product range. With these options it is now possible to calibrate even more temperature sensors at the same time and to calibrate large as well as odd sizes and shapes of sensors, which were not possible to calibrate in the existing range. The compromise compared to the existing models is longer cooling, heating and stabilization times.
ATC-140 & ATC-250 can be used without an external reference sensor, but if a STS-100 reference sensor is connected directly to a B version or the JOFRA reference thermometer DTI-1000, you obtain better accuracies and thereby use the full potential of the calibrators.

The UniCAL is a isolated calibration bath of stainless stell for operation using water, alcohol or transfer oil as temperature regulation liquid. The temperature level is controlled by a Unistat connected to it using hoses and is therewith limited. This results in good mixing characteristics and a homogeneous temperature distribution within the bath.

Fluidized baths offer an open work area with the potential for a wide range of applications where a stable temperature environment is required. They use a media that never needs replacing and doesn't evaporate, are safe to operate and thus a logical choice over molten salt baths, high temperature oil baths and ovens and furnaces. Click here to learn more about Fluidized baths and how to they work?
Applications for Fluidized baths (a few of the many):
Verification & calibration of temperature sensors, devices and systems (Lab Series, FB08)
Shape setting of various metals including Nitinol for Medical Stents (FB08)
Cleaning of tooling (breaker plates, screws, heads, nozzle) used in plastics manufacturing (IFB series)
Tempering, annealing & Nitriding of various metals (all models)
Reactive chemical analysis including distillation (all models)
General heat treatment applications up to 600ºC/1112ºF (all models)

Techne® SB series Fluidized baths operate from ambient to 600°C, and provide a working environment that is dry, easily accessible, and free from the dangers associated with high temperature oil or salt baths. Our fluidized baths are bench standing, requiring only an electrical and air supply for operation.
Air passes through the mass of the AL2O3 particles via a porous plate in the base of the unit separating the
individual particles and suspending them in free air, providing the properties of a liquid bath. Heaters in the bath
maintain temperatures of up to 600°C. All SB Series Baths incorporate stainless steel inner containers insulated
from outer walls, and a safety air pressure switch in the event of loss of air.
Baths are controllable to within +/-1°C, making them ideal as general purpose high temperature environments for
comparison calibration, metal treatment, distillation, and other high temperature applications.
All Fluidized baths are supplied with an initial charge of
aluminum oxide fluidizing media and overspill flange.

Modern plastic producers spend ever-increasing amounts of money on more and more complicated tooling which still has to be cleaned to maintain product quality. Techne approached this problem some years ago and now have a range of equipment designed to remove unwanted material from production hardware without damage to the part(s) being cleaned. The Fluidised Bath is a thermal process that degrades plastic residues to carbon and comes away from the bath as CO2. This fast cleaning process enable costly machinery to be put back into production with the minimum delay. Baths operate from a factory air supply or if required inert gases such as nitrogen, full range of fume treatment apparatus is available.

Techne Dip and Flow coolers are designed for use at below ambient temperatures down to -35°C.
The Flow Coolers work in conjunction with a Techne thermoregulator (excluding TU-20HT). They continually extract heat from the bath fluid by means of the heat exchanger which is built into the unit.
The cooling head of the Techne Dip Coolers fit neatly and unobtrusively into the corner of the standard circulating bath and can be secured with a specially designed mounting bracket. Even if cooling can be achieved by cold tap water, a dip cooler is recommended as it conserves water and is easier and more convenient to use.
