OEM Solutions
When it comes to integrating vision or optical measurement capabilities into one's original equipment, picking separate components on the sole consideration of their state-of-the-art specifications doesn't make it right every time. When it makes it. What is of utmost importance, rather, is the supplier's skills in sorting out the very requirements that govern the final system performance and customizing the right solution for the right cost.
We specializes in supplying industry OEMs with specific solutions that exactly meet their exact vision or optical application requirements.
Here is one example of customization and application-specific solution
a compact, high sensitivity linescan camera used in sorting applications.

Thanks to its 400 MHz (3,200 MIPS) DSP, the VCLine scan Smart Camera from Vision Components is one of the fastest intelligent cameras on the market. The device supports three integration modes: the free-running mode enables a scan rate of 11 kHz. With a constant integration time, the camera can be triggered externally at a maximum scan rate of 5,5 kHz. A third mode allows for a variable integration time which is determined by external triggering, reaching a maximum scan rate of 11 kHz. The Smart Camera comes equipped with 32 MB DRAM and 4 MB Flash EPROM for program and data storage. It features both an Ethernet and a RS232 interface as well as four digital PLC inputs and four outputs, an image trigger input and a flash trigger output. Due to its small dimensions (90 x 50 x 35 mm), the VCLine can be easily integrated into machines and plants. Like all other Smart Cameras from Vision Components, it is especially suited for use in rugged industrial environments – due to its compact and robust housing, it withstands vibrations and shocks.

Ultraviolet (UV) option
An increasing number of applications make use of UV light. This makes surface artifacts appear in greater clarity and allows visualization of even smaller features.
The DVL Series cameras are offered with a UV-sensitive option for resolutions of 512, 1024 and 2048 pixels. These cameras incorporate a high-sensitivity imager with fused silica windows for use in the UV down to 200nm.

sensicam uv
This UV sensitive cooled digital 12bit camera system comprises advanced CCD and elctronics technology. With this on-chip multiplication of the light signal the readout noise of the camera can be neglected ( 50). With its excellent resolution of 1004x1002pixel this high performance cooled digital 12 bit CCD camera system is best suited for extremely low light camera applications. The system features thermo-electrical cooling of the image sensor down to -12°C and an outstanding quantum efficiency in the UV range of the spectrum (QE 15% @254nm and 10% @193nm). Exposure time modes (software selectable) range from 75 µs - 1h. A high speed serial data link connects the system to the PC (fiber optic link available). This low light UV camera system is perfectly suited for scientific imaging (e.g. metrology, semiconductor quality control, nano particle measurements and bio label imaging) applications.

Visible phenomena are not the only ones of interest for scientific or industrial applications; uv imaging for UV laser beam alignment and diagnostic, semi-conductor mask alignment, lithography, etc are increasingly important. Our cameras sensitive in the UV and low energy X ray region use the latest solid state device technology and offer the following capabilities:
40% quantum efficiency at 200nm can be achieved with new interline chip while offering very good noise characteristics at high frame rates.
High resolution is also available with UV sensitivity with 1.3 million pixels on several CCD chips.
IEEE 1394 (Firewire), RS422, LVDS and camera link frame grabber outputs are used and also analogue video output.

The Imaging Source is one of the rare manufacturers in the world that offers FireWire (IEEE 1394) cameras with an motorized lens (focal lens 5 - 45 mm, auto iris and one push auto focus). Zoom and focus are set by stepper motors, thus all adjustments can be reproduced. The iris is driven by a fast linear Hall element. The Dxx 21xF04-Z2 camera series is equipped with a 640 x 480 CCD and outputs up to 60 frames/s. The Dxx 31xF03-Z2 offers a CCD with 1024 x 768 pixels and a frame rate of 30 frames/s. An external trigger input is provided to capture images on demand. All cameras functions are software controlled and can be either set manually or automatically via an easy-to-use interface. The cameras ship with an extremely robust and stable, cast aluminum casting and with the SDK (software developer kit) "IC Imaging Control" and end-user application "IC Capture" to control the camera, display and save singular images, image sequences and image streams. Optionally, the cameras can be equipped with a ring light system specifically designed for The Imaging Source cameras. The ring light can be powered by the camera and be controlled via a software interface. The application areas of these zoom cameras are agriculture, assembling, quality inspection, law enforcement, logistics, medicine, packaging, printing, robotics, security, traffic control, science and visualization.

The cameras ship in robust industrial casing with a C/CS lens mount and optionally with a trigger and digital I/Os. The color, monochrome and Bayer models are available in VGA, XGA and SXGA resolutions.
The software support of the cameras leaves nothing to be desired: Both programmers and end-users immediately feel at home. Getting started with the cameras is a matter of minutes and integrating them into existing applications takes only a few lines of code. Drivers for "LabView", "Halcon", "DirectX", "Twain" and "WDM" are included. All camera parameters and settings can be set via the shipped software. Furthermore, a number of automatic modes are available, which guarantee optimal image quality in varying light conditions.
The cameras ship with drivers for Windows XP/Visa, the SDK "IC Imaging Control" and "IC Capture". The latter is a powerful end-user application, which allows all cameras parameters to be set, live video to be displayed, singular images and image sequences to be captured.

MATRIX VISION's mvBlueCOUGAR-P is a compact industrial Gigabit Ethernet camera with a powerful PowerPC processor. The processor makes sure that the image processing takes place at the sensor directly and only the relevant data are transferred. Consequently bandwidth is saved allowing cameras with higher resolutions and frame rates to be used. Furthermore a processing server no longer has to perform low level processing actions. For this reason, the mvBlueCOUGAR-P is suited mainly to applications in the security industry or for industrial inspection, where a multitude of cameras is used and a large amount of data are processed.
|
|
|
GigE Vision is, in theory, a highly attractive option as a bus standard for implementing machine vision systems. It offers high specifications for data rate and interconnection length, promises interoperability between vendors, and is based on a familiar, mainstream technology with all the concomitant advantages of economies of scale and ubiquity of deployment.

Ranger - The fastest camera in the world for three dimensional shape measurement!
The Ranger camera measures 3D features at unmatched speed producing a complete data set of the object measured. Providing a 3rd dimension adds height and shape measurement data, which can be critical when correctly classifying an object. Ranger is the key component in many market leading in-line inspection machines used in the Electronic, Semicon, Wood, Robot Vision, Plastic, Rubber and Food industries.
The Ranger acquires up to 35,000 profiles per second, each containing up to 1536 high quality 3D coordinates. This is more than 45 million 3D points per second!
The complete 3D calculation is done inside the camera and the ready-to-use 3D coordinates are sent directly to a standard PC via CameraLink or Gigabit Ethernet. This eliminates the need for expensive post processors.
