The PROTEC BS(R) 25 series of low cost, over voltage surge protective devices has been developed to protect against partial direct and indirect lightning discharges and is intended to provide protection in zones 0A - 1 as per IEC 62305. Surge and Noise protection is required to protect against all internally and externally generated transients. Ideally, there is surge protection for every copper wire that enters or exits a facility including data/signal lines.
The majority of transients are internally generated in most manufacturing facilities making protection at distribution branch and control panels critical. The modular lightning protectors of type OF ensure the protection of the electric systems against overpressures being able to appear on their feeding circuit per (effect of the lightning), or of operation stormy weather of coupling on the network (industrial parasites).
Protection is ensured thanks to a spark-gap strong capacity of flow, able to run out with the ground a current of 150 kA without suffering damage.
This module associated with models DGV, makes it possible to constitute a very effective protection in mode common mode differential according to the wiring diagram "C2" of guide UTE 15-443 (still called "3 1").
The lightning protector OF is used for protection upstream of the networks single-phase currents or three-phase particularly exposed (lightning protector of the type 1). It is installed with the TGBT of the installation. It is exclusively intended to be cabled between neutral (NR) and ground (EP) in partnership with lightning protectors DGV, connected to them-even between phase and neutral.

accordance with ANSI/IEEE C62.11 and IEC 99-4[2,3].
The standard TRANQUELL arrester consists of a stack
of metal oxide disks mounted in a sealed housing.
Each disk is wedged in place offering protection against
physical damage during shipment and installation.
On the end faces of each disk, a conducting surface
is applied to assure proper contact and uniform current distribution.
TRANQUELL arresters provide exceptional overvoltage
protection of major power system equipment.
Under normal system conditions, the arrester conducts
less than one milliampere. When a surge reaches the arrester,
the arrester conducts only the current necessary to limit
the overvoltage. As a result, TRANQUELL arresters absorb
minimum energy to protect equipment insulation. |

These boxes consist of a stage of protection by lightning protectors, associated with their protection by fuses, in accordance with standard NF C 61.740. The prewired unit is laid out in a metal box with closing with key. The indications of presence of tension and possible defect of the lightning protectors are deferred on the door of the box by a luminous witness (positive safety).

The product has been fully tested to comply with the requirements of ANSI C37.60 and utilizes vacuum interrupters encased in a polycarbonate housing inside a powder coated stainless steel tank to provide a fully insulated and solid di-electric system. The device measures current on all three (3) phases utilizing Rogowski sensors as well as voltage on all six (6) bushings using a capacitively coupled voltage measurement technique from conductive rubber screens. Because the device has the ability to measure voltage and current, the protection and data logging functionality that is available in the RC control is extensive.
