Fluorescent UV lamps, similar in mechanical and electrical characteristics to those used for residential and commercial lighting, have been developed with specific spectral distributions. Tests using fluorescent lamps are useful for relative rank comparisons between materials under specific conditions, but the comparison to service lifetime performance or correlation to outdoor exposures may not be valid. The best use of the UV lamps is for general screening tests, such as checking for gross formulation errors with an artificially harsh exposure.

SAL Table Top models 400 L / 1000 L
The unique 400 L salt spray cabinet can be placed either on an existing laboratory table or on the original VLM support. This offers the most convenient and space saving configuration of the cabinet, test solution reservoir and water purification plant. Only compressed air has to supplied. If there is no central plant you will find very low-noise compressors among the accessories.
Front door opening cabinets allow most convenient loading of the chamber particularly with hanging specimen. Moreover the cleaning of the chamber is easy. Due to the high level of the drain port there will be enough downward slope to the commonly installed siphons.
The side walls of the chamber are made of polyethylene with milled holes for the specimen support. The water trough, the back wall and the inner roof are made of stainless steel coated with Halar® (ECTFE). This unique design allows a quick transfer of the heat into the chamber. Together with the advanced temperature control system best conditions for the precise tempering of the chamber are provided.
For that reason SAL cabinets can also be applied to conducting of high humidity tests after the extension by the working system „CON“.

VLM corrosion test cabinets provide best conditions for the conduction of high humidity tests due to its unique design. The bottom, rear wall and roof are made of stainless steel coated with Halar® (ECTFE), a fluorine polymer used in chemical apparatus engineering. Hence there is a quick transfer of the heat from the heaters below the bottom into the water bath. So the water evaporates and condensates very evenly. The best reproducibility of the climate is achieved by the patented CTD-System
VLM CON cabinets for alternating water condensation tests are equipped with the working system “AIR”. That means that ambient air is introduced into the chamber by a fan. The air is evenly distributed to the chamber by a perforated pipe in order to dry the specimen evenly.
We offer a variety of table top models with a chamber capacity of 300 L and 400 L as well as 1000 L cabinets for conducting of tests requiring:
Condensation atmosphere with constant humidity
persuant to ISO 6270-2 (CH)
Condensation climate with alternating humidity and air temperature persuant to ISO 6270-2 (AHT)
Condensation climate with alternating air temperature
persuant to ISO 6270-2 (AT)

400 L Cabinet CON 400-S A-KES to conduct fully automatic Kesternichtests persuant to ISO 6988
This cabinet is equipped with the working system water condensation „CON“ with CWC System and the working system „AIR“ and provides best climate conditions for conducting water condensation and Kesternichtests. Please note that the water is only heated up by the heaters below the water bath. As we do not apply any circulating pump the surface of the water remains quiet. This is essential concerning the absorption of the SO2 comparable to the climate in manually operated Kesternich chambers.
The SO2 is measured by an advanced massflowmeter and monitored by the PLC which controls the complete test procedure.
The CON 400-S AKES cabinet meets high requirements of safety and convenience. If necessary an extension by installing the working system “SAL” salt spray is possible, thus fully automatic cycling corrosion tests can be carried out.

Alternatively to our salt spray tests bench top cabinets and HD-chest models we offer the most favourable "ECONOMY" chests with 600L and 1000 L chamber capacity. These models are especially designed pursuant to the requirements of salt spray tests according to ASTM B117, ASTM B368, BS 3900 ECCA T8 JIS 7253 DIN 50021 SS, ESS,CASS resp. ISO 9227.
The side- and front walls are made from polypropylene. Following the VLM prinicles the EC-chest model are as well furnished with a ECTFE coated stainless steel bottom. Compared to conventinal chests the EC-chambers show a considerably better heat conductivity. For this reason the chamber will be heated up evenly and rapidly. Moreover due to this benefit, EC-chests can also be used for high humidity tests with constant water condensation pursuant to ISO 6270-2 CH.
The EC-cabinets are furnished with a transparent cover with turnable locks at both sides with a "dry" seal made of silicon foam. Hence, there is not only a convenient cleaning or loading of the chamber with the specimens. More important: As the chamber is hermetically closed during the tests there is no risk of contamination of the lab by escaping salt mist. An air purge is a serial feature and has to be activated before the cover is opened.

Corrosive atmosphere chambers subject test items to corrosion without introducing other contaminants into the test area.
Associated Environmental Systems' salt spray chambers are entirely self-contained. The basic chamber conforms to military specifications, including MIL-STD-810, and is also used for many commercial and ASTM specifications.
The MX-9200 corrosive atmosphere chamber:
* Has a transparent Lucite test area that is impervious to corrosion.
* Provides continuous direct visual observation of the test item.
* Contains thermostats and metallic items made of Monel to avoid transference and minimize corrosion.
* Provides lucite rods to hang or support items within the test area.
* Performscontinuous unattended tests for up to 72 hours. This period may be extended by adding an external storage tank, a tower level control and a salt solution reservoir level control to automatically refill the system.
