Automated RIVCLINCH® Production
The RIVCLINCH® ARC-E system is a flexible Clinch system for mass production.
A compact electrically-powered setting tool and
Process monitoring with an IPC and the associated external communication with the robot or a higher-level system controller, form the basis for the stable and fully automatic clinching, particularly of thin metal sheets.
The system has a modular design and is therefore suitable for various requirements and all forms of mass production - especially for automobile manufacturing and the white goods industry.

RIVCLINCH® Modular Systems
Under the "modular systems" product series, there is a standard range of Clinch tools available to you, from which you can compile individual Clinch tools within various module systems based on user requirements.
The module systems are divided into three main groups, which differ in terms of their respective max. joining force.
- RIVCLINCH® P35 S with 35 kN max. joining force
- RIVCLINCH® P50 S with 55 kN max. joining force
- RIVCLINCH® P75 S with 75 - 105 kN max. joining force
Special designs are also possible based on this modular system.
A modular RIVCLINCH® system consists of the following basic components:
- C frames
- Setting cylinders
- Tool set
- Pressure intensifier (booster)
Optionally, the system can be expanded by:
- Axle balancing slide
- Gyroscopic suspension
- Balancer
- Clinch cycle monitoring
The RIVCLINCH® systems from the modular series can also be integrated into automatically controlled production systems.

Multicyl’s patented self-adjusting stroke with a fast advance and smooth hydraulic finish is ideal for the metal clinching operation. Many combinations of metal can be joined including mild steel, galvanized, pre-painted or pre-coated stock, aluminium, and stainless steel.
The clinching process needs no additional parts such as rivets and is effective without special preparation of the parts to be fastened. Companies in the HVAC, automotive, office furniture, and appliance industries have switched to this proven fastening technology offered by Multicyl.
An added benefit is that our MultiLoc systems bring the ease and practicality of the unitized tooling concept to metal joining applications. The punch and die can be easily changed to accommodate different materials and the tooling can even be completely changed so that a MultiLoc station can be converted into a hole punching station in just minutes.
Adding automation to the concept can make an efficient high volume production MultiLoc machine. See the picture below of an automated MultiLoc machine used by a company in the furniture industry to make frames out of roll formed components. The machine includes four custom clinching stations, an automated parts feeder, and programmable adjustment to accept a full range of standard part sizes. Sensors are used to assure that all parts were in the proper position before the machine would cycle.
