Hardinge Sure-Grip Power Chucks are lever-operated, counter-centrifugal and dynamically balanced. This enables you to continually operate your CNC lathe at higher spindle speeds and feed rates with less concern for loss of jaw force normally associated with wedge-style chucks.
Sure-Grip Power Chucks mount directly to ANSI A2-4, A2-5, A2-6 and A2-8 spindles, eliminating the added tolerance buildup when using special adapter plates. Sure-Grip Power Chucks come standard with 1.5mm x 60 serrated master jaws designed to ISO specifications. Quick-change chucks available.
Hardinge manufactures a complete line of jaws for all brands of chucks.

ITW Workholding offers a wide range of power chucks for special design applications. Products include:
Woodworth UBL (shown) - This is a ball chuck with offers pull down gripping. Available in centering and / or compesation style. The UBL provides 6 points of contact (3-jaw model) using jaws that conform to part differences
Woodworth ECC - This 6-jaw equalizing, counter centrifugal, chuck is used in applications where part tolerances are very tight. Where most chucks offer a 3 to 1 grip force ratio, the ECC offers a 2 to 1. This means you can have finer adjustments for grip force. Also, the standard feature of the counter centrifugal force compensation means you can run at higher speeds with less grip force loss.
Collet Chucks - Used in 2nd operation turning, ITW Workholding designs and builds special collet chucks which offer a wide range of solutions to your turning, milling or grinding requirements. |

Hardinge Swiss-type Collets are ground to precise size and TIR to meet precision machining requirements with a standard accuracy that rivals the industry! Every collet and guide bushing is inspected on a Hardinge Super-Precision (.000015" TIR) headstock before reaching the stockroom.
Hardinge manufactures to Swiss quality for all brands of Swiss-style machines and cam-operated lathes. Extended-Nose Collets feature added nose length, flat or tapered, for doing pick-off work or to compensate for tooling interference. An Emergency Collet can be machined to the desired bore size. Emergencies are also available in extended-nose for added nose length.
Hardinge round Swiss Guide Bushings are carbide-lined to keep the stock clean and unmarked. Specials are available in hardened steel, Meehanite lining, angular & zig-zag slotted and extruded shapes. Escomatic counter collets and guide bushings can be manufactured to order. Hardinge also carries bar loader collets.

using a patented silicone compound
as the pressuring medium
• Up to 800Nm transmittable torque,
depending on the diameter
• Improved surface finish of the
workpiece
• Higher workpiece accuracy
• Up to 50% longer tool life
• Increased productivity
• Patented, leak-proof clamping
system
• Repeatability of 3 microns TIR over
50,000 cycles
• Available on all popular taper
shanks, including HSK |

Axial Tool length adjustment up to 10 mm via a screw in the center.
Optional "QUICK-SET" Tool length adjustment up to 10 mm stroke allows for tool length adjustment with cutting tool and retention knob assembled. |
|
No influence on setting length if the pressure of coaling liquid is equal to or less than 70 bar.
Most of the torque caused by the threading will be taken up by the square in the bottom. The hydraulic will take up the axial force.
For smaller threads than M16 you must use reducing sleeves and reducing adapters for the squares. |

| The floating chuck is a tool holder which gives tool self-alignment due to radial tolerance and angular correction. It is used for accurate grinding such as boring to close limits. |
|
| Innovative method of clamping round work pieces on turning machines. The short clamping depth possible by form-closing clamping reduces raw material and minimizes clamping forces. This results in minimal deformations. Ideal for round pieces which are produced on turning machines or on mill-turn machines with high concentricity and repeatability. |
