The T4 was engineered for machining the largest size of aerospace structural parts.Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) has been extensively applied to aerospace structural parts to reduce the weight of aircraft and improve their fuel economy. The use of titanium alloys has also been increasing recently because their coefficient of thermal expansion is compatible with that of CFRP. Machining productivity is extremely low for titanium alloys because their hard-to-cut nature limits the cutting speed owing to the relationship with tool wear. Makino has developed the T4 to improve machining productivity for these hard-to-cut materials. Typical machining applications for the T4 include edge frames and pylons.

Laser welding system ELC 250 DUO
The extraordinarily sturdy twin-spindle laser-welding machine offers simultaneous loading and unloading of the work spindles. The clamped/compressed component can be welded axially and radially. An integrated compression unit ensures that welding distortion is reduced to a minimum. The ELC 250 DUO features a fixed beam-focusing unit. - Speed and accuracy -
The fixed bridge single-piece frame, the motion mechanisms appropriately sized for heavy-duty working loads, the high-performance digital axis and the electrospindle power contribute to guaranteeing high machining speeds in combination with positioning accuracy and finishing quality.
Venus can be configured with a wide range of operating units. The RX4 operating unit emphasises its work field width and the machining speeds. It can also be configured alternately with the 5-axis PX5 unit or the 3-4-axis TX3 operating unit.
The work table is available in the steel version with universal T-shaped guides and standard vacuum system, or with special universal clamping modules, for an immediate work table setting.
- Safety and protection -
