Compressed air systems for commercial vehicles have to be protected against internal corrosion - and also against freezing under extreme climatic conditions - so as to maintain their functional reliability. The air dryer extracts the humidity contained in the ambient air from the compressed air; oil and impurities are separated via a filter integrated in the filter cartridge. MAHLE air dryers provide reliable protection against disturbances and premature wear of the entire compressed air system.

Drying Systems - LFT/LFE/LFA Series
Ultra Air Heatless Regenerative Dryers delivers a -40 F PDP, a dewpoint lower than that required by the Instrument Society of America. In colder climates, weather can negatively affect productivity by literally freezing and completely blocking outdoor air lines. Instrument air requires a quality of air that only a Regenerative type dryer can deliver. Therefore, whenever lower dewpoints are required for outdoor piping, instrument air, process air or gas drying, the Ultra Air Regenerative Dryings are the perfect solution.
Features:
Generous quantities of activated alumina desiccant
Centrally mounted pressure gauge and relief valves on each tower
ASME inspected and stamped and CRN registered pressure vessels (100 CFM and above)
Purge air mufflers to reduce exhaust noise

Compressed air is an important provider of energy for industry; what is often overlooked however is the need to provide quality treatment for this air. Compressed air contains condensate which, when cooled, will turn into water, causing extensive damage to both the compressed air network and the finished product itself.
WDRD refrigeration dryers actively remove this condensate to achieve near perfectly dry compressed air. The benefits are notable: less system downtime, reduced costs and maintenance, and an improved finished product. WDRD, thanks to its PlusPack heat exchanger (patent pending) and the most compact dimensions on the market, will prove a major asset in your factory.
* "Plug & Play" Design for Easy Installation and Operation
(WDRD10 - WDRD125)
* Small Space Saving Design
* Oversized Demister Separator Resulting in Excellent Liquid
Removal Over all Operating Conditions
* Low Pressure Differential Across The Dryer (1.45 PSIG Average)
* Environmentally Friendly Refrigerant
* Oversized Condenser to Operate in Ambients to 122°F (50°C)
* All Models Incorporate a Dewpoint Indicator

Air Dryer for Commercial Vehicles
Trucks installed with air-brakes apply the brake using compressed air supplied from the compressor, although the water content of the compressed air can cause rust and/or freezing in any equipment in the air brake system, leading to malfunctioning of the vehicles. The air dryer acts to remove any water content from the compressed air and delivers dried air into the air brake system. Nabtesco's air dryers have been adopted by all the heavy-duty truck manufacturers in Japan.

Aquasorb A-30B/Bp is a sorption dehumidifier that condenses out the moisture. The chassis is made of stainless steel, which is especially important in condensing units. The rotor is, as always, washable, all energy is accumulated in the dry air. Aquasorb operates at dew-points below 0°C.

The operation of compressed air systems with conventional adsorption dryers suffers from system-related pressure drop. This deficiency needs to be compensated via an increased compressor performance, this requiring a higher energy demand.
Cold-regenerated DRYPOINT® AC adsorption dryers offer a convincing solution to the problem:
BEKO has developed an adsorption dryer which limits the pressure drop to an average of only 0.25 bar, including the pre- and final filters.- Compared with conventional constructions, this represents an improvement of over 50%.

Technology : Adsorption Dryers.
Operating principle: Designed for extracting humidity from compressed air, these dryers consist of aluminium columns each of which contains two twin chambers filled with a desiccant agent which dries the compressed air crossing over it. When a chamber is in service (drying phase), the other is in regeneration mode.
Flow rates treated:
From 40 m3/h to 2040 m3/h
Values given for a pressure of 7 bar and aspiration at 1 bar and at 20°C.
Pressure Dew point:
- 40°C as standard (SM and SMH models)
- 20°C optional (SM230 to SM1200 models only)
- 70°C optional (SM and SMH models)
Standard equipment:
High resistance extruded aluminium construction. Humidity indicator for monitoring the quality of air supplied. Fast re-pressurisation valve providing easy commutation and improving reliability.
Regeneration method: By pressure variation (SM models) and temperature variation (SMH models): the saturated desiccant agent is regenerated using a small quantity of the treated compressed air (SM models) with an additional heat contribution through heating elements (SMH models only). The dilatation of that warm air which is changed from the circuit pressure to atmospheric pressure provides the means for extracting the humidity absorbed by the desiccant agent and thus for regenerating it. The heating elements (SMH models only) provide the means for significantly reducing the quantity of dry air used and at the same time the dryer's operating cost.

Technology: Adsorption Dryers.
From 5.1 m3/h to 34 m3/h
Pressure Dew point:
- 40°C as standard
- 70°C optional
Standard equipment:
Integral high efficiency oil removal SCH filter and 2-in-1 type cartridge (consisting of SCR anti-particle filter and desiccant).
Electronic display with operating condition by LED and audible alarm. Condensates removal by integral pipes.
Corrosion-resistant protection by epoxy painting and alocrom treatment.
Regeneration method:
By pressure variation: a small quantity of the treated compressed air is taken to regenerate the saturated desiccant agent. The dilatation of that air which changes from the circuit pressure to atmospheric pressure provides the means for extracting the humidity absorbed by the desiccant and thus for regenerating it. The humidity is then dispersed into the atmosphere through the exhaust silencers.
Key points: Installation at the point of use: supply of dry air right where it is needed. Easy installation, small dimensions and reduced noise level. Fast, simple maintenance.
Applications:
Suitable for all users wanting to obtain dry compressed air for a specific application, thus avoiding unnecessary and costly full treatment of the whole of the air network.

The regeneration air requirement quantity is 15-18%. Flow rate as well as the regeneration air requirement are dependent on the operating pressure, inlet temperature and the dew-point of the compressed air. The maximum permissible operating pressure is 8.5 bar min/max compressed air and ambient temperature: -20°C/55°C. Higher operating pressures available on request.

SECCANT Regeneration Dryer - Safe and Low Maintenance Drying of Air and Gases
High Pressure Dryer SECCANT
SECCANTReasons for drying compressed air and gases
Compressed air and gases contain moisture and other contaminants that, if not removed from the air stream, may cause serious damage to the compressor system, tools and test pieces. Costly repairs and maintenance can result from accumulated corrosion, icing and dirt. The development of a failsafe, cost effective regeneration dryer for operating pressures of up to 350 bar / 5000 psig is an answer to the rising demand for dry and clean high pressure compressed air and gases.
How high pressure dryers work
Drying of the air and gas stream is achieved through adsorption. The molecular sieve with very large surface area accumulates water molecules from the gas stream. This process is reversible, that is, molecular sieve saturated with water molecules can be regenerated by a desorption process. Regeneration is achieved using a partial stream (maximum 5%) of the already dried medium. The low requirement of air for regeneration is due to the large difference in pressure between the between the operating pressure of 90-350 bar / 1300-5000 psig and the regeneration pressure, which corresponds to atmospheric pressure of 1 bar / 14.5 psi absolute. The regenerating air is channelled through the saturated molecular sieve and regenerates the adsorber by means of the partial decrease in line pressure.
