Superior product distribution due to the thermo-siphon principle. As product boils and rises in the tube, fresh product automatically rises to refill the tube. This distribution technique operates independently of the feed rate, allows a high degree of flexibility and the possibility of turn down.
Very short residence time; the product is in the SIGMASTAR® for less than a second. This is due to the short flow distance and the high product film velocity. This feature guarantees a gentle treatment of the product.
Low pressure losses across the tubes, a benefit of the short tube length.

APV PLATE EVAPORATORS
During the plate evaporation process, liquid is pumped between thin plates with the heating medium on the mating surfaces. The product is then evaporated with the vapour generated forming a high velocity core. This expansion in volume causes a high-velocity, thin film on the heat exchange surface providing efficient heat transfer.
Plate evaporators should be considered for applications that have:
* Capacities up to 27,000 kg/h water removal
* A need for future expansion
* Limited head space
* A particle size smaller than 600 Micron

Refrigerated units are insulated units without mechanical refrigeration. Eutectic refrigeration allows the required temperature to be maintained 24 hours and more for chilled products as well as for frozen.
The eutectic plate releases a constant cooling capacity due to the latent melting heat from the eutectic mixture.
Placed in the top part of the container, the eutectic plate releases the cooling capacity previously accumulated in the cold room during the freezing process.
To ensure the maximum efficiency from eutectic plate, the eutectic liquid must be completly solidified.
The freezing temperature must be at least 5°C less than the melting temperature of the eutectic fluid.
Depending on the type of refrigeration unit used, the freezing time may be from 6 to 24 hours.

Tech-Etch can photoetch flow field bi-polar plates used in PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) Fuel Cells. Bi-polar plates, or separator plates, are conductive plates in a fuel cell stack that act as an anode for one cell and a cathode for adjacent cells. The plates contain flow channels for the fluid feeds and may contain conduits for heat transfer.
Tech-Etch can produce plates with interlacing front and back side channels to produce a corrugated effect for cooling purposes.
In addition, photoetching can be combined with machining to produce cross-over channels. Tolerances up to .0005 inches can be achieved in typical materials such as Titanium and Stainless Steel for these anode and cathode plates. These production processes are extremely desirable in the design and prototype stage of fuel cell development. Tech-Etch manufactures their fuel cell plates to customer specifications.

The Microchannel Plate (MCP) consists of millions of very-thin, conductive glass capillaries (4 to 25 micro meters in diameter) fused together and sliced into a thin plate. Each capillary or channel works as an independent secondary-electron multiplier to form a two-dimensional secondary-electron multiplier. The MCP shows a high detection efficiency to electrons and ions. It is also sensitive to a wide range of other radiation including UV, VUV, soft X-ray photons and neutrons. The MCP offers many advantages over conventional detectors, compact, light weight, good timing properties due to short length, high gain, excellent pulse height distribution and two-dimensional imaging when used in conjunction with a phosphor screen. MCPs are used in mass spectroscopy, low light level imaging and all types of electron microscopes.

APPLICATION - CLIPMOUNT permits the panel display of a PCB mounted LED without its physical attachment to the front panel. This mount enables the use of interconnects between display panels and circuit boards.
VERSATILITY - CLIPMOUNT provides a method of displaying PCB or panel mounted LEDs on a display panel. These mounts are available in either black or clear allowing an LED viewing angle of up to 180 degrees. Mounts are available for both 3mm and 5mm LEDs.
BRIGHTNESS - CLIPMOUNT provides direct viewing of the LED. Mono and multicolor LEDs as well as infrared and photo-detection devices can be mounted in this manner. This design also permits use of either diffused or nondiffused LEDs.
INSTALLATION - CLIPMOUNT are easily installed for PCB mounted LEDs. Simply slide mount thru a 9/32" panel hole and press retaining ring into place. The LED is now able to slide in and out of mount without its physical attachment to front panel. For interconnect applications, hold mount tightly to panel with a nut driver and press connector with LED on from rear.
