Kar-Tech's valve drivers come in three flavors, the Universal Valve Driver, loaded with preset valve information for all the major manufacturers presently on the market, the Digital Valve Driver, custom-tuned for your application, or the Micro Valve Driver - an extremely low-cost two input/two output proportional valve driver for simple applications. All varieties offer advanced setup and calibration via Kar-Tech's patented Palm Pilot interface, and have been designed rugged enough for any application. Basic Technical Info:
Kar-Tech's valve drivers operate between a range of 9 to 35VDC, and are protected for voltage spikes and reverse battery connection. The number of I/O are custom-configured for the customer, or in the case of the Micro Valve Driver - two inputs, two outputs. All valve drivers have an operating temperature range of -40 to 85C.

Intellects and Valve Drivers
The Intellect is a programmable fluid control instrument with non-volatile user program memory and system expansion Input/Output (I/O) used for fluid selection and redirection.
The unit includes:
- a valve mechanism driven by a stepper motor and the electronics required to control the motor,
- the user I/O,
- host controller communications. Two way communications are through RS232 or RS485.
Multiple Intellect configurations share standard RS485 communications, with up to 15 units being addressed on a single bus. A single RS232 interface allows communications between a host PC and any of the units on the RS485 bus. This bus is fully compatible with the Kloehn Ltd. V6 Syringe Drive Module, allowing the designer/user to mix pumps and Intellects on the bus, as desired.
The Intellect can also operate in stand-alone mode without the intervention of a separate controller. In this case, programs can be automatically started at power-on, and user-supplied external switches can be used to initiate user programmed sequences. Two front panel push button switches allow for simple manual control of the valve positions. In addition, a front panel indicator lights automatically if an error should occur.

The AD-4826 is a feeder controller with model predictive control technology that delivers superior performance when compared with PID control devices.
Model predictive control is a method of process control to determine a manipulated variable that enables a process variable to reach a set point by predicting future changes in a process using models of the controlled object’s behavior. The internal model is used to predict if any deviation from the set point will occur in the immediate future when process control is continued with the current manipulated variable. If a deviation is predicted, an adjusted manipulated variable is output and sent to the controlled object.
Unlike PID control, which executes a correction after a control deviation occurs, model predictive control predicts a deviation in advance using a model of the system’s behavior to enable stable process control while avoiding hunting (unstable movement). The extraordinary advantages of model predictive control include process control stability, disturbance cancellation, improved response to changes, improved set-point-following capability and high tolerance to the influence of changes in a process.
The AD-4826 can perform model predictive control with a screw feeder, circle feeder, table feeder or rotary feeder that has been controlled with PID control (up to 4 feeders can be used with one AD-4826 device).

TRM has introduced a new service allowing manufacturers of machines to design their own Controller for their machine by specifying options from a menu. The system is based upon a high power motion Controller which enables almost any application to be implemented. A typical example of the type of machine they could use this technology is a printing machine.
The OEM can select a range of liquid-crystal displays to suit the machines needs. Once the LCD has been selected the location and number of keys may be added to the keypad. Warning lights, start and stop buttons can be added to the front of the controller. In this way an attractive and efficient front panel can be designed for your machine. The idea is to make the machine as attractive, safe easy-to-use and practical as possible. Many machines require a number of technologies in order to implement a control system typically there will be a plc, motion controller, man machine interface, and a host of electrical items to control machine. The TRM system combines many of these functions onto a single board. There is a cable between the Controller and the interconnect card mounted in the machine. It is possible to implement solid-state relays, contactors, timers, soft starts, speed controls, power supplies, breakout connections, even thermal couple inputs can be included.

HI 10000 Fertilizer Injection Systems precisely monitors and controls fertilizer concentrations and pH for all types of greenhouse and field agricultural irrigation applications. Unlike flow-driven systems of the past, the HANNA Fertigation System continuously measures the actual EC and pH of the flow-through, and precisely adjusts the concentration of fertilizer into the system. The HANNA System is a bypass system which will not interfere with main line flow and thus does not impede line flow or pressure. This unit will accurately inject fertilizer in flow rates ranging from 5GPM to 300GPM.
HI 8000 Series Controller included with the system has 10 programs that allow the user to set various EC and pH values for a variety of plants. Each system allows the injection of a single fertilizer and 1 minors or (mild) acid. If preferred, each fertilizer injector can be set to a specific percent, allowing customized fertilizer mixtures from salts of the basic elements N-P-K, providing a considerable cost savings.
The HANNA Fertigation System also controls up to 8 irrigation valves (either sequentially or in groups of 2, 3, up to 8 at once) for complete automation of the fertigation process. Programs can be triggered by time, external switching, and/or flow, (e.g. spot watering - timer adjustable). HI 8000 is also capable of controlling an external agitator, handy for mixing fertilizer solutions. A backflow control allows the filtration system to be flushed and cleaned. Alarm controls and redundant monitoring help reduce error and unexpected events. This system can be synchronized with a GSM module which allows for remote monitoring and control from a PC.

General Description
The profichip MPI12x is a communication chip with processor interface for MPI applications.
The MPI12x handles the message and address identification, the data security sequences and the protocol processing for PROFIBUS, which is the underlying transmission protocol.
Token handling, error detection and data pre-processing is executed out automatically by the MPI12x, relieving the host processor from all time-critical tasks and time-consuming arithmetic operations. Support of data transmission rates up to 12 Mbit/s, the integration of the PFOFIBus protocol into hardware, 4 KByte communication RAM and the configurable processor interface are features to create high-performance MPI applications.
Alternatively, the MPI12x can be used as a Serial Interface Device supporting synchronous and asynchronous standard protocols as well as user defined protocols with data transmission rates up to 12 Mbits/s.
Moreover the well-known PROFIBUS Slave Core VPC3+C (extended by DP-V2 service “Clock Synchronisation”) is integrated as well.

Traditional open loop controls lack repeatability and don't compensate for incoming air pressure changes at the powder pump. With closed loop flow control, like iControl, changes in compressed air input are measured and converted in to digital signals, then sent to a proportional valve.
This valve then compensates for varying pressure by changing the airflow to the pump accordingly - resulting in repeatable powder output from the gun and uniform film build on the part beng sprayed.
The technology provides digital control of all application parameters and gun movers through a single, user-friendly operator interface.
