Function
These units are based around a twin belted conveyor segment with one adjustable and one fixed side. The frame consists of four adjustable feet, an integrated switching
cabinet and a table construction to support the conveyor mechanism. The transfer of the PCB’s can be clocked or synchronous.

The inclined belt conveyor GKAL-60 can be used in wide variety of applications.
Upon request it can be made in various sizes within one single day.
The GKAL-60 has an extremely rigid TorsioDur frame in monobloc quality.
As well as in standard sizes it can also be custom made for specific problem solutions.
Along the whole length of the 60 mm high frame, additional accessories can be fixed to M8 sliding blocks gliding in the grooves along the side of the frame.
In a standard configuration the GKAL-60 is equipped with a slatted belt, side guide rails and a receiving hopper with fall black flap. The slats on the belt normally are 20, 30 or 40 mm high. But special heights are also available. The distance between the slats on the belt can be freely chosen. The receiving hopper exists in a small and a big standard version. A lot more of the versatile accessories in our program can be found on the pages 45 to 52 of this brochure.
The two double supports, with which the GKAL-60 on this page is equipped, can be infinitely adjusted in height and angle. For an easy change of position, the support at the receiving end has little casters. In an alternative configuration the GKAL-60 can have a single column support with wheels. It is shown on page 11.

The belt conveyors are suited for horizontal or inclined handling of various types of granular products (food or others). At present orders concerning the supply of belt transportation conveyers with a width of 1 600 and 1 800 mm have become reality. The production range includes belt conveyors with a belt width from 1 200 to 2 250 mm.

Belt Conveyor Systems continuously transport bulk materials, excavated and crushed rock material in a clean and efficient manner over long distances, through curves and up and down via considerable inclinations. The design parameters strongly determined the climatic conditions and material properties.
Tenova TAKRAF Belt Conveyors can be stationary, shift able, enclosed, running in tunnels over long distances, mounted on sleepers, on rails and onto the tunnel roof. The belt width ranges from 1 m to 3 m, the maximum belt speed today reaches 6,1 m/s in copper mines (even 10 m/s on conveyor bridges).
Besides countless belt conveyors in lignite mines worldwide, in 2000 Tenova TAKRAF built a conveyor system with the world longest 16.8 km single conveyor , thereof 16 km inside of an inclined tunnel. Milestones in the development of conveyor systems are installed downhill overland conveyor of El Abra and the in pit and ex pit conveyors of the Escondida mine in Chile.

Tenova TAKRAF has been building conveyor bridges since 1924.The mobile conveyor bridges in the German Lignite mines transport the material from the excavators directly crossing the open pit onto the dump site. Special operational conditions there allow capacities up to 29.000 m³/h from three Bucket Chain Excavators, a span length (distance between the supports) of 270 m and a dumping height of 74 m. The 13400 t Conveyor Bridge travels on rails. One support stands on the excavation site, the other one on the dumping side. The extraction of the lignite takes place between the supports.
Another application of Tenova TAKRAF conveyor bridges are Dumping the Heap Leach Systems. These conveyor bridges are also fully mobile and transfer the material from reclaimers, overland conveyors or connecting conveyors to the downstream conveyors, Mobile Transfer Conveyors or Stackers (Spreaders) as seen in Gaby/Chile or Toquepala/Peru.

Corner belt conveyors allow the solving of logistic problems through the deviation of the conveying system from a few degrees to a 180 ° turn.
Their main features are a constant flow of the material being transported and remarkable space saving. The standard angles are 45°, 90° and 180°, but it is also possible to supply any other angle with no limitation in the shape of rollers (tapered end rollers or knife edges) for the continous transfer of items throughout the system avoiding instability problems and the use of connection plates or rollers.
The belt conveying surface can be PUR, PVC or rubber according to the application it is meant for: chemical, foodstuffs, graphics and cartons, wood and brick industry; mail automation, material handling, airports etc.

Tenova TAKRAF developed and supplied Slope Conveyor Bridges as a mobile link between a Bucket Wheel/Chain Excavator and a shiftable conveyor installed on a bench with a higher level. The advantages of Slope Conveyor Bridges are on the one hand the location of the face conveyor already on the next higher level and on the other hand the elimination of a ramp conveyor. The slope will be bridged by the Conveyor Bridge without any earth work.
Tenova TAKRAF's Slope Conveyor Bridges in Kazakhstan have a capacity of 5500 m³/h and can handle height differences up to 28 m.
