Primary or Pre-Cleaners
Belt cleaners are an essential part of any conveyor system. Belt cleaners help remove product carry back and prevent it from falling off at various points along the return side of the belt causing various housekeeping and maintenance problems. Carry back can lead to:
- Excessive buildup and wear on belt idlers and pulleys
-Conveyor belt misalignment due to the artificial crown created by the carry
back.
- Accumulation of material falling off idlers and structure to the ground or on buildings, vehicles or even people
- Negative and unsafe work environment

Installed on the face of the discharge pulley below the material trajectory, Martin Engineering Pre-Cleaners remove carryback with firm but gentle pressure.
Pre-Cleaners remove the majority of carrryback, leaving only fines and slime for the follow-up secondary cleaning systems. This multiple-cleaner system provides effective cleaning without becoming overwhelmed by an onslaught of material.
Martin Engineering offers pre-cleaners in a variety of color-coded high-performance urethanes to provide the best solution for challenging application requirements.
MARTIN® SHD Belt Cleaner
Massive Construction
Structural steel means no more bent mainframes, even with high tonnages and large lumps. Massive urethane blades provide up to 12 inches (305 mm) of wear life.
Engineered System
MARTIN® SHD Belt Cleaner and tensioner are designed together for effective cleaning and reduced service requirements.
Constant Angle Blade Design
Patented "CARP" continuous angle curved blade provides effective cleaning across all stages of belt cleaner blade life.
MARTIN® SHD Belt Cleaners are protected by U.S. Patent Numbers 4,917,231; 6,493,373.
Martin Engineering is the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of engineered conveyor belt cleaning systems. In this position, Martin Engineering has developed fundamental principles of cleaner design that have set standards for belt cleaner engineering and performance.
The multiple-cleaner system originally adopted by Martin Engineering is now the standard for applications on belt conveyors carrying all types of bulk materials around the world. End users (and other cleaner manufacturers) have accepted it almost universally.

Pre-Scraper Type B9
For many years HOSCH Scrapers have been at the forefront of belt cleaning technology, always meeting the exacting requirements of modern conveying systems at low operating costs.
The HOSCH Type B9 Scraper with segmented blades is recommended as a Pre-Scraper and as a Head Drum Scraper and is especially effective for removing heavy residue of materials adhering to belt surfaces.
When installed with the HOSCH patented Sprung Blade Scraper as a secondary unit the Type B9 Scraper contributes to the cleaning efficiency of the system.
The polyurethane blades which are inclined against the direction of belt travel, ensure effective cleaning of the belt and at the same time optimum removal of material.
With the addition of Reversing Elasto Assemblies, the Type B9 Scraper will operate on reversing belt systems without restrictions.

Martin Engineering Secondary Cleaners provide the final precision cleaning to remove the carryback that has passed the pre-cleaners.
Depending on material and conditions, some applications may require more than one secondary cleaner, or even the installation of tertiary cleaning systems to remove the remaining fines and water from the belt.
One or more secondary cleaners should be installed at the point where the conveyor belt is leaving the head pulley. If that point is inaccessible, the cleaner(s) should be moved further along the conveyor return, to a point where the belt is firmly supported against a roller to allow the application of firm cleaning pressure.

Hammer Maintenance Saves Time
Blade replacement is fast and easy; just pound out worn blades and pound in the new ones.
No Damage To Splice Or Blade
Resilient urethane cleaning elements absorb impact, let splices pass without damage.
Durable & Long-Lasting
Rugged, one-piece molded urethane elements stand up to tough conditions.

Now there is a new urethane-blade precleaner that outperforms other “hot” blades. The High-Temp ConShear™ Blade is designed for continuous, ambient temperatures up to 275ºF (135ºC) and spikes to 325ºF (163ºC). This bright yellow blade takes the heat and yet provides the extended wear life of Flexco’s standard ConShear™ blade.
More wear life means fewer blade change-outs. And a visual check tensioner makes maintenance easy. A quick measurement of the tensioner spring lets you know if the blade is at optimal tension. If retensioning is needed, simply turn the adjusting nut to restore optimal cleaning tension. Comes standard with a blade length of belt width minus 2".

It is a vertical CNC controlled 6 spindle turret type high pressure cleaning machine.
Remained burr and cutting chips can be removed from cross holes, deep tap holes at the operating pressure up to 50MPa.
Features:
- Cutting chips can be removed by maximum 50MPa high pressure water jet emitted from the nozzle positioned by CNC.
- It can deburr by attaching a drill or a brush to the six- spindle turret.
- Cleaning room, the section of machine operation and NC Controller are separated entirely, which ensures waterproofing.

RÖSLER-Waterjet-Machines blast with clean pure water and attain a pressure up to 60000 psi, 4.000 bar. This water is projected onto the component to be treated, via one or more nozzles fixed on a rotating nozzle holder.
The rotation of the nozzle(s) generates a milling or grinding effect on the parts. This is a "soft" method to treat parts from which tenacious, very hard coatings have to be removed.
Blasting with water has many advantages:
No peening effect > no deformations at the part
Absolutely media-free water > insignificant abrasion at the part
Environment-friendly > The process water can be re-used in the closed circuit
No abrasive deposits > no subsequent cleaning of the parts necessary
No abrasive wear
Anticorrosives may be utilised
This procedure is employed for multiple applications in many industrial sectors:
Removal of thermic coatings (e.g. plasma coatings)
Cleaning of welding lines from residual slag
Cleaning of cast parts from sand and ceramic residuals
De-lacquering of a variety of different work pieces
The nozzles are directed by industrial robots or CNC-systems. Thus, a homogeneous blasting result can be achieved.
All relevant machine parameters can be supervised, recorded and adjusted by a central computer.

Since water in the vapor phase in its purest form is present, it is suitable in this state of aggregation in outstanding way for the cleaning. On the oil-moistened metal surface the change of temperature leads to a drastic sinking of the viscosity of the oil. Supported by the mechanical effect of the water vapor subjected under pressure an excellent cleaning efficiency is obtained.
Operational principle:
The profiles are cleaned in a closed cleaning system with water vapor. The MTM Destimat produces made of tap water
2-5 bar water vapor, which is steered by a nozzle directly on the preheated surface of the going through profile. The entire surface is released in such a way from the drawing oil. The oil running off is collected and separated.
Advantages:
- most modern and patented MTM equipment technology
- energy-saving enterprise with only max. 15 KW of capacity
- space-saving solution, the total dimension of the compact
Run plant amounts to 1,900 x 800 x 1,600 mm (LxBxH), inclusive on that
Plant installed switchgear cabinet amounts to the height of 2,300 mm
- simple maintenance
- the plant can without large expenditure on other profile measures reequipped
