CTW TM Technology
The geometry has been developed to incorporate CTWTM (Continuously thinned web ) Technology. This means that when the user re-point grinds the drill, the resultant point is already thinned.

CoroDrill Delta-C R846
Sandvik Coromant has developed a new drill, CoroDrill Delta-C R846, for Heat Resistant Super Alloy machining in aerospace applications, such as the production of gas turbine casings. The new drill is designed for the continuous and reliable production of holes in demanding HRSA materials, which place heavy demands on the cutting edge. The geometry of the new CoroDrill Delta-C is optimised for maximum efficiency in repeat short hole drilling. The new cutting edge has a more consistent curve for added strength in the outer corners where cutting forces can be highest in demanding applications. This distributes the cutting forces evenly over the cutting edge – giving an even wear without sudden changes.
CoroMill Plura
The CoroMill Plura solid carbide endmill family covers most milling applications from roughing to superfinishing, keyslot milling and chamfering.
The endmills are designed with several length options to maximise productivity from short to long reach. They are supplied in diameters from 0.4 - 25 mm and also available in an multi-edged version for super finishing and a spherical version for optimised accessibility.
CoroMill Plura endmills are supplied in three different carbide grades covering wet and dry milling in steels, stainless steels, cast iron, heat resistant super alloys, hardened materials as well as aluminium. |

|
Designed with a length to diameter ratio of approximately 4-1/2 to 1 , this line of carbide boring tools features set-screw flats that position the cutting edge on exact centerline when used in a Criterion Boring Head.
They are available in two all-purpose grades of carbide - the ABT tools are a grade C-2 and are used on cast iron and all non-ferrous materials. The SBT tools are a grade C-6 and are intended for use on steel and other continuous chip materials. For the correct grade for your particular job we suggest you contact your carbide supplier or you may refer to the comparison charts found in most carbide catalogs.
Carbide Boring Tools with minimum boring diameters of 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 feature a solid carbide neck and head. |

WELDON 3AF Finisher:
The 3AF is intended for finishing operations in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. These tools have a high shear 40 degree helix and come standard with a cylindrical margin to provide chatter resistant machining and superior finishes in all non-ferrous materials. Although intended for finishing, the 3AF has also proven itself in lighter roughing applications.
In addition to square end tools, we provide a broad radius program for our 3AF series.
The 3AF is available from stock as a bright tool or with Zirconium Nitride (ZrN) and Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coatings for improved performance and extended tool life. Special quotes and non-stocked coatings are available upon request.
WELDON 5SF Finisher:
We round out our Weldon Premium Carbide offering with the 5SF. This tool is intended for finishing operations, though it can also handle medium to light peripheral roughing, in steel and ferrous alloys. A full eccentric primary grind, sharp corners, a 40 degree helix to ensure proper chip evacuation and an odd number of flutes to reduce unwanted harmonics come together in our 5SF to deliver superior finishes in ferrous materials. The 5SF should be your first choice in premium carbide for finishing and medium to light peripheral roughing for steel and ferrous applications.
Our 5SF square end tools are complemented by a broad radius program.
Aluminum Titanium Nitride (AlTiN) and Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) tools are available from stock in stub, standard, long and extra long lengths. Special quotes and non-stocked coatings are available upon request. |

TOOL AND MATERIAL CLAMPING SYSTEMS
Description of tool holders and tool carriers
Tool holders are mainly clamps and expandable dollies and also derivatives of clamps.
Tool-carrier ranges are manufactured to meet ISO and HSK standards as well as Schaublin’s standards which have often become the standards for the world. We also produce cylindrical tool-carriers, Morse tapers and specific adaptations of particular machines or applications.
Schaublin also develops, on request, special applications that require clamping abilities tailored to the customer’s requirements.
Operation and uses
Clamps are used to grip the material, parts in rotation and counter-rotation or tool shanks. These clamps are of pull or thrust type where the force on the taper closes the clamp onto the part to be gripped.
Clamps are generally steel, sometimes brass or with inserts of other materials.
