The intelligent damper - due to ER-technology (ERF)
The Bansbach easyERF dampers are extremely quick and
efficient dampers with a broad application field. Its innovation
potential is the electronically adjustable damping intensity
and the reaction time within milliseconds. Advantages of the
damper: no wear and tear, maintenance-free, high reliability.
The technology:
In the electrical field, the electrorheological fluid changes its consistency from thick to thin within milliseconds. According to the ERF-technology, the dampers adapt very quickly to changing system requirements, using as little energy as possible. An electrical signal determines the damper forces which can thus be optimally adapted to operating excitation forces. The damping force can consequently be adjusted within the characteristic field - quick, at any time, noiceless - and only by the use of a simple electronic interface.

Dashpot damping applications fall into one of the following generic categories: Velocity Control of Solenoids, Spring Loaded Mechanisms, Falling Mass, Creating Time Delay, Vibration Damping, Valve Damping, Limiting Overaction, or Cushioning Impact. At rest, the dashpot is a passive device and has no force output. In motion, the dashpot offers a resisting force which rises to equal the force of the input load, achieving a zero net force. This results in zero acceleration and constant velocity. Force limits of Airpot dashpots are determined by the direction of damping and the diameter of the piston. In pull damping units, a vacuum is being created in the dashpot as the piston moves outward. Thus, the maximum resisting force limit of the unit is a direct function of atmospheric pressure and the area of the piston (F=PA) Assuming an equal ambient pressure, larger diameter units will have force limits higher than smaller diameter units; the limits being directly proportional to their piston areas. In the push damping (compression) direction, air must be compressed into an ever decreasing space; the force can rise to a level which is higher than is possible in the pull damping direction. Precision Dashpots from Airpot are available in standard or custom designed configurations, depending on your application. Airpot dashpots unique combination of materials, combined with the precision of the parts and their close fits, provides ultra low friction, immediate response and long life without seals or lubricants, even under extreme temperatures, high speed operation, or long periods of non-use.

A Marsh Mellow spring is a fabric reinforced rubber cylinder. A main advantage of a Marsh Mellow spring over an air spring in isolation applications is a Marsh Mellow spring does not require air.
Marsh Mellow is a trade name of the rubber and fabric spring developed by Firestone Industrial Products in the early 1970's. Rubber springs have long time been a subject of interest in the vehicular suspension and industrial application fields because of their reliability, corrosion resistance, low cost, and basic simplicity. The concept has been tried with varying degrees of success over the years. The major obstacle to solid rubber springs has been that to obtain the load requirements for many applications, solid rubber springs were either physically too large, or became unstable laterally when they were made long enough to provide good isolation. The concept of "stacking" rubber springs answered the latter problem, but introduced the need for complicated mechanical guide systems to control the lateral movement.

STAB-O-SHOC
Function of a Damper
The damper is a hydraulic damping element and consists of a pressure tube with a connection fitting, a piston rod with piston system and a piston rod connection fitting. The piston rod is mounted in a special seal-guide system in the pressure tube. The piston rod in the pressure tube features a damping piston and the related valve system. The movement of the piston displaces the filling medium (oil), which is pressed through the valve system and thus produces the damping force.
Dampers are needed to influence the nature of movements and vibrations. Dampers are designed to optimally match the particular application.
Vibration dampening for steering systems, engines, automatic trailer brakes, washing machines, seats, two-wheelers and other applications.
Vibration damper with separating piston for positionally independent installation. Available with an internal valve for compensation of high compression forces. Frequency-dependent dampers for dampening only selected areas of vibration.

Damping Engineering
EDH and ZDH final dampers
Used to slow travel speeds before reaching the final position. An extensive
range of sizes in both single and bi-directional configurations is available with variable damping.
High-Performance dampers
These dampers will slow heavy fast moving objects in a short distance - used mainly in machine manufacture.
Oil dampers with fixings on both ends
These dampers are attached to the object at both ends by eyelets or other end fittings and provide constant damping throughout their stroke. These dampers are available preset or with variable damping force.
The oil dampers are manufactured custom-made, in single units as well as large batches. The Dictator engineering service calculates the oil damper you need, this calculation being included in our service.
Radial dampers
These variable force dampers provide constant speed control for heavy objects over long travel distances and are particularly suitable to control sliding doors.
DICTATOR engineers calculate the correct damper for your application.

Under normal circumstances, Hydraulic Shock Absorbers allow free movements of the bridge structure. Under shock impact, e.g. due to earthquakes, high braking loads or strong winds, they function temporarily as elastic damping connections.
Hydraulic Shock Absorbers can be used in all situations where horizontal loads, due to earthquakes, strong braking etc., must be through the structure.

Versatile vibration isolator as the last resort:
1. Low frequency and micro vibration in particular:
Alpha gel vibration isolators cover a wide range of loads from 0.2kg to 300kg. Alpha gel isolators excel in dampening low frequency/micro vibrations & noise in particular, usually not eliminated by other materials such as rubber. That is why they were brought to space in the Space Shuttle. They are proven to work nicely for over 2 decades on the globe too...
2. Alpha gel brand:
Alpha gel is the umbrella brand for the patented, multifunctional silicone gel from Taica Corp (formerly Geltec) in Japan. For over 20 years, its softness has established unique and distinct position in vibration isolation, shock absorption, thermal conductivity, and a comfortable feel in ways traditional solutions have fallen short.
(a) Wide operating temperature:-40 to 200 C (-40 to 392 F)

Heat Shield Isolators & Vibration Dampeners
ACS Industries, Inc.’s patent pending single-rivet heat shield isolator and production process are revolutionizing isolating and vibration dampening technology. A significant improvement over existing assemblies, this innovative design eliminates multiple-piece constructions and the costly assembly process that accompanies them.
Based on existing heat shield isolator and vibration dampener technology, our single-rivet isolators function similarly to other such elements. By reducing resident frequencies the materials they support, they reduce the noise these waves produce. Manufactured from wire types specifically matched to operating requirements, these compressed mesh elements can be engineered to survive hostile environmental factors such as temperature extremes or corrosive agents.

As a result of its interlocking loop construction-which couples resiliency with high damping characteristics and nonlinear spring rates-Metex knitted wire mesh offers unique properties for absorbing shock and vibration. Each loop acts as a small spring when subjected to compressive loads, and will immediately resume 90% of its original shape when the load is removed.
Knitted wire mesh can be used to provide mechanical support for the monolith element used in an exhaust system's catalytic converter. The wire mesh is used to support the monolith, compensate for the wide range of thermal expansion rates and protect the fragile ceramic honeycomb from the mechanical shocks associated with various driving conditions.
