The Bowers Depthmatic Digital Depth Gauge has a fast slide action to allow the user to quickly and accurately measure plain depths or other features such as groove widths, etc. Simple screw-in extension rods allow depths of up to 300 mm to be measured. The standard gauge can be modified for awkward applications by fitting alternative bridges, longer reach extensions, or specialised contact points.
- Standard workshop model made
of alloyed stainless steel
- Available with hook (H) or
without hook (B)
- Screw stop solid slider model
- With laser engraved graduations
- The scale shows mm value
- Measuring surface is micro-lapped
Large sizes in mechanical engineering mean dimensions in excess of 500 mm.
Besides various measurement procedures like those that apply large internal or external
micrometers with two-point contact, tape rules (wrapping round the outside diameter),
V-bases, rotating measuring disks (rolling-contact) and optical systems (triangulation
with theodolites), resort is often to make use of simple testing means like fixed gauges
(inside calliper gauges), gauge blocks combinations or telescopic adjustable gauges.
