Chemically resistant diaphragm pump models MPC, are fully suited and to
applications where aggressive solvent and acid vapours are present. The
diaphragms and other wetted parts are made from compounds of PTFE, PP and PVDF. The pumping and connection heads are carbon fibre reinforced with a small electrical conductivity. This prevents electrostatic loading and
minimizes the danger of igniting gas mixtures in the pump by electrostatic
discharge. The long life of these diaphragm pumps speaks for itself.

Application
Diaphragm pumps of the NT-series are oilfree dry running pumps for the generation of vacuum as well as the delivery and evacuation of gases and vapours. In chemical laboratories they are the more powerfull and modern alternative to water jet pumps, because they are more friendly to the environment at minimized operation and maintenance costs. Typical applications: on vacuum drying chambers, for distillation, drying, and vacuum filtering but also as backing pump for turbo-molecular pumps, gas transfer and the like. The pumps produce little noise and vibrations and are therefore ideal for installation in sensitive devices (e.g. chemical analysis).
Advantages
There are one-, two- three- and four-stage pumps available. The vacuum performance has been increased considerably, which expands the application field for both laboratory and industrial use. The one-stage pumps are designed for an ultimate vacuum of 70 mbar, the two-stage pumps for 7 mbar, the three-stage pumps for down to 1 mbar and the four-stage pumps for 0.5 mbar. International Protection code for all NT models is IP 42 (except those with switchable dual-voltage motors). The NT pumps are designed very compact and are exceptionally quiet and smooth-running. Smooth housing surfaces (except for the two-cylinder aluminium version) make the NT diaphragm pumps easy to clean. On the whole the pumps work almost maintenance-free. All models have easily changeable valves and diaphragms. |

The FEM diaphragm dosing pump has been specially developed
in order to accurately dose small quantities of liquid over a long
period of time whereby two of its most distinctive features are its
compact size and robustness (pump and electronics). The FEM
pump and electronics makes a complete dosing system which
is suitable for both simple as well as complex applications. With
the functions „quasi continuous flow“ and „batch dispensing“ the
FEM diaphragm pump differentiates itself from pumps based on
alternative technologies eg. piston, gear, syringe and peristaltic
pumps. Other interesting features are its high reliability, a
favourable purchasing price and low maintenance costs.
KNF has developed a specially programmed electronic control
module so that the integrated solenoid valve and the movements
of the diaphragm are exactly synchronised. This results in an
exact dosing which is gentle and low in pulsation. In addition
to these unique pump characteristics the control module also
allows a wide range of control possibilities to be used eg.
serial interfaces.
The dosing pump is self priming, maintenance free and can
be run dry |

Our Laboratory Vacuum Systems LVS are compact pump systems for conventional vacuum distillation. Equipped with a chemical-resistant diaphragm pump (see the Diaphragm Pumps section), they are the ideal solution for a great many applications in chemical laboratories and research. Our vacuum pump stands are fitted with or without pressure regulation depending upon their use. The pressure regulation of the laboratory vacuum systems is implemented in the standard version by a chemical-resistant solenoid valve. The operation of the controller has been intentionally simplified, and it is easy to learn. Visualization and settings can be made from a PC.

VACUUBRAND VARIO chemistry pumping units control the vacuum level with pinpoint precision by adjusting the diaphragm pump's motor speed continuously. They enable automatic detection of vapour pressure and variable adjustment of the vacuum level to the process. The fast and precise adaptive control always adjusts the pumping speed to the optimal level, regardless of installation size or gas volume. Process times are shortened by the high evaporation rate. Through constant evaporation, an optimal solvent recovery rate can be achieved. On the whole, the demand-oriented motor speed control reduces the workload of the vacuum pump significantly. This leads to unrivalled lifetimes for moving parts.
Application
For evaporation, distillation, drying and all other processes that require precise vacuum control, stagelessly adjustable pumping speed or demand-oriented vacuum supply. |

The chemistry vacuum pumping unit PC 8 / MV 10C with the built-in four-stage Chemistry Diaphragm Pump MV 10C achieves an oilfree vacuum of down to 0.9 mbar. It is used for applications with high demands on ultimate vacuum and pumping speed in chemical laboratories, mini-plants or for small production facilities, e.g. to pump or transfer aggressive gases, for distillation and for vacuum drying.
The large-volume high-performance exhaust vapour condenser with 1 l condensate collection bottle enables efficient solvent recovery which is both environmentally friendly and economic due to re-use of the solvents.
Advantages
- compact, ready-for-use vacuum pumping unit
- high-performance four-stage chemistry diaphragm pump
- oilfree vacuum down to 0.9 mbar
- solvent-recovery rate of next to 100%
- high chemical resistance |

The Series G Metering Pump is designed for high output applications. The drive incorporates a variable eccentic design which ensures smooth output and reduces system shock. The mechanically actuated diaphragm reduces the possibility of hydraulic oil contamination of process liquid which makes this an ideal pump for water treatment applications. DC variable speed drives are available for external control and automation.
The SD & SG metering pumps offer a high level of reliability with outstanding value for applications up to 175 psi (12 Bar). |

| Maintaining the same size footprint of previous models, the sleek new pump offers a number of product enhancements to provide longer life and product convenience, while the physical design signifies supreme quality. The newly redesigned housing improves the drive’s heat transfer properties, as it generates heat farther away from the electronic components to maintain the long-term integrity of the PC Board. Electrical connector attachments have been repositioned to the front of the pump for easy access. With a new clear cover the face of the pump is shielded from exposure to corrosive substances yet lifts easily for convenient access, allowing operators to view dial settings for fine-tuning output. In addition, the pump and liquid end mounting geometries have been improved for enhanced connections. For more information please contact LMI Milton Roy |

| Used wherever precise flow control, particularly at high pressures, is required. Flow rates from 0.02 to 144 mL/min at pressures to 5000 psi in a variety of models. HP Series pumps provide for flow rate control via precision micrometer; VS Series pumps provide flow rate control, either locally or remotely, via motor speed variation. Corrosion resistant materials, including metal-free versions. |

High discharge accuracy
The main components such as the plunger and cylinder are processed with high precision of micron order, so it is possible to obtain high discharge accuracy. (Discharge accuracy : }0.5%) By changing the angle of the pump head it is possible to freely adjust the discharge amount between 0 and maximum discharge.
Excellent corrosion resistance
Materials such as silicon carbide (SiC), fluorocarbon polymers (PTFE) and stainless casting (SCS14) with excellent resistance to corrosion are used for parts that come in contact with the fluid. This makes it possible to use the pumps for handling a wide range of chemicals.
Dispense into a vacuum condition and removal from a high-pressure condition
Since there are no suction and discharge valves, it is possible to directly dispense a constant amount of fluid in a vacuum (negative pressure) without using a solenoid. Constant-volume dispensing is also possible if suction side is pressurized.
Capable of handling slurries and highly viscous fluids
The unique valveless construction and the excellent resistance to wear of SiC, it is possible to handle slurries with fast precipitation speed as well as abrasive slurries. Also, the pumps are capable of smoothly pumping highly viscous fluids up to a maximum viscosity of 20,000 mPa¥s.
Note: The discharge accuracy drops for viscous fluids with a viscosity of 500 mPa¥s or greater. Contact this company for details.
