Lumitex uses sheets of fiber optic cloth to create LCD backlights of custom shapes, sizes and configurations. In a typical design, we use two or more layers of Woven Fiber Optic Cloth to form a rectangular light emitting area. This product is typically 0.068” (1.7mm) thick and anywhere from 1 sq inch to over 100 sq inches. The fibers coming off one end are then bundled into a circular ferrule and coupled to one or more LED light sources. An alternatives technology is our thinner UniGlo technology to create backlights as thin as 0.013” (0.33mm).
Lumitex Fiber Optic LCD BackLighting provides long life, low power, inert, maintenance free backlighting for all LCD and Display designs.
Longer Life - Durable fiber optic panel never needs replacement. Remote light source offers 10,000 to 100,000 hours life and easy replacement.
Lower Power - Sources require less power than EL, CCFL, or LED Array and no inverter. As low as 10-20mA at 2vdc
Compact Size - Panels are thin and sources are smaller than EL or CCFL inverters.
Heat/EMI Free - Fiber optic panel adds no heat or EMI to interfere with switch operation
Durable - Optical Fibers are not affected by extremes in humidity (0% to 100%) and temperature (-40 to +85 deg C)

ANKA® Display systems
ANKA® displays by Wöhrle are your indispensable aid to communications. They provide information, help, warnings and support. Several language levels within one device mean that your information system is international.
The display systems are easily coupled to the PLC or PC either serially, or via fieldbus. We supply drivers for a large number of control systems with every display unit.
They are particularly cost-effective in that up to 250 subsidiary displays can be operated from one display unit. It is also possible to form terminal systems. And up to 15 groups each with up to 15 large displays can be controlled from one serial port. So there is no limit to the opportunities for combination.

High Resolution SmartSwitch and SmartDisplay are programmable modules that display graphics for alphanumeric characters, animated sequences, with a 64 color capability arrangement.
An integrated liquid crystal display provides wide viewing angle with high contrast and clarity. The modules are Epoxy Sealed with Straight PC Terminals to prevent entry of solder flux and other contaminants. Standoffs are utilized to allow for easy, secure mounting and alignment. The High Resolution SmartSwitch has a life of 1,000,000 actuations.

OSD has been manufacturing and marketing Large Molecule passive matrix OLED products since 2003. These popular products have been designed into communication systems, industrial control systems and many types of consumer electronics. So, it is with great regret that OSD has announced it is withdrawing its entire PLED module line from the marketplace.
