A boring tool is usually a modular tool, consisting of a basic holder, adapter and a cutting unit in the form of a cartridge, slide or fine boring unit. A fine boring head holds a boring bar or cartridge. A reamer has a tool shank and a close pitch head with brazed blades. The tools, except the reamer, are radially adjustable within a specific diameter range.
Sandvik Coromant now introduces CoroBore 820, a unique addition to its boring tool programme.
CoroBore 820 is a new solution for high productive boring preferably in roughing operations. The boring range is 35 - 260 mm and the boring depth is up to 4 x diameter. It is designed for internal coolant supply.
Three cutting edges allow a higher penetration rate with maintained tool life. A comprehensive programme of tool bodies, slides, shims and cutting inserts allow CoroBore 820 to be configured to suit the widest possible range of applications.
CoroBore 820 in combination with Duobore makes a highly productive team for rough boring from Sandvik Coromant.

BoreSTAR out-performs any other kit when it comes to range, rigidity, accuracy and repeatability.
The BoreSTART kit is fast and simple to use (no spacers or complicated set-ups) but is extremely rigid and accurate. It is dial adjustable in increments of 0.0001". Range is from .314" to 6.69" (8mm to 170mm)

Drilling tools in solid carbide, diamond and cermets
With HAM´s standard tools it is possible to machine hardened steel up to 63 HRC without problems and economically. We have also developed a special line of tools designed for use of minimum lubrication or dry machining.
HAM is permanently trying to improve the quality of the carbides in close cooperation with its suppliers. Our engineers test and retest the coatings of the tools in our technology centre in order to achieve the best suitable solution.
To be recognized as a system supplier that serves complete solutions, HAM has enlarged its product range with brazed and indexable tools. These products are offered as standards or as specials tools according to customer drawing.

PCD equipped tools prove their efficiency especially for high-speed cutting applications. This cutting material usually demands high rpm, which means that the machining times are reduced substantially. Compared to the common solid carbide drilling tools very high tool lives are achieved due to the hardness of PCD tools.
Further advantages are excellent surface qualities, high cutting volume, and high thermal conductivity.

The flowdrill process is based on a combination
of thrust force and rotation speed. It allows to form
bushing into thin walled metallic materials.
All metals which can be soldered, ferrous or non
ferrous, can also be flowdrilled. Parts with a protecting
coat like chromium platimg, etc., are non suitable for
the flowdrilling.
In order to precisely control the process (thrust and
speed) it is recommended to work with the machining
unit BEA25CNC, for less demanding applications the
unit BEM20. For thread cutting or forming the tapping
unit GEM20.

Our comprehensive reamer range has been designed to not only meet requirements of dimensional accuracy and surface finish for precision hole machining, but also to deliver high productivity.
Including fixed, expandable and modular mandrel reamers, the range covers hole diameters from 5.8mm to 200.6mm and incorporate integral coolant ports in three configurations to provide optimum coolant flow for both through and blind holes.
All reamers in the range use brazed carbide cutting edges, incorporating various coatings to suit specific work piece materials and maintain optimum performance, accuracy and finish. Also, six different 'lead in' geometries can be specified, dependent on whether an integral expanding reamer or modular cutting ring type is required.

Standard reamer with parallel shank
Standard reamers with parallel shank and guide pads (solid carbide + cermet) for all common dimensions in H6 tolerance, for through-hole and blind-hole boring with a defined selection of cutting plate geometries for all common workpiece materials.
Special solutions:
Specially manufactured reaming tools with indexable inserts and guide pads are possible for a wide variety of machining processes, such as boring of camshaft and crankshaft bearings up to valve guide machining.
Depending on requirements the cutting tool material, geometries, pad materials, different step profiles and tool holders, such as compensating adapters, can be integrated into the tool concept to fulfil maximum roundness, cylindricity and quality requirements.

Landis Reamer Program
Landis Reamers for reaming, chamfering, and facing come in four basic styles - solid, detachable blade, insert blade and composite. The style supplied will depend upon the operation to be performed and the type of Landis die head in which it will be used. They can be identified by a symbol number stamped or etched on one of the flutes of the solid and composite reamers and on each one of the blades of detachable and insert blade-type reamers.

Reaming
