Increased rigidity for minimizing bar deflection and chatter
The rigidity of the bar in the direction of the principal force is maximized because the thickest portion of the head is located as close as possible to the cutting edge.
Chip pocket design for excellent chip evacuation
The excellent chip evacuation allows minimizing tool failure caused from chip recutting and chip entangling. Moreover, damages to the work surface by striking with chips are suppressed.
The oil hole is positioned as close as to the cutting edge so that the cutting fluid can be surely fed to the cutting point.

A boring tool is usually a modular tool, consisting of a basic holder, adapter and a cutting unit in the form of a cartridge, slide or fine boring unit. A fine boring head holds a boring bar or cartridge. A reamer has a tool shank and a close pitch head with brazed blades. The tools, except the reamer, are radially adjustable within a specific diameter range.

The all-surface tool for plunging, drilling, grooving and more.
- Multi-Function Cutter: Center cutting capability allows drilling of holes as well as other operations such as channeling, contouring, shouldering and ramping.
- 2 Identical Inserts - 2 Effective Teeth: Cutter designed with two identical trapezoidal inserts, allowing for two effective cutting edges when plunging and endmilling.
- Great Strength: Insert geometry designed for applications in high strength tool steels. Our VP5020 grade (PVD coated micrograin carbide) is highly resistant to wear and thermal shock.
- No Interference with the Part Being Machined: The cutting diameters of the cutters are intentionally made larger than the shank diameters.
- Greater Rigidity with Large Overhangs: Plunging, a milling operation along the Z-axis only, minimizes the flexing of the cutters and allows a greater overhang than can be realized with conventional milling in the X and Y axis.

"SLICK" Twist Drills for composite materials and Titanium
HTT patented “Slick” Drills are micrograin solid carbide twist drills designed for Drilling – Reaming – Countersinking in one operation (“One Up”) composite materials (AL/AL - AL/Ti - CFRP/AL - CFRP/Ti - Ti/CFRP - CFRP - Ti/Inconel). “One Up” operations offer the following benefits:
Reduction of the quantity of tools and production phases
Costs reduction
Operation Time reduction
Improvement of surface finish quality
“Slick” Twist Drills are of three fundamental types:
- For CNC machines
- For semi automatic machines (PV Tools, pneumatic tools with constant feed per revolution)
- Hand operated twist drills (with a pre-hole that enables you to obtain a finished ½” bore in one operation instead of using 8 different drills and bore processes)

The CoroDrill 805 makes it possible to drill deep holes without moving the workpiece to a dedicated deep hole drilling machine i.e. all operations can be completed in one set-up.
Deep holes can be performed with high productivity and reliability achieving a hole quality comparable with traditional deep hole drilling. Another advantage is that no extra pump capacity is required.
CoroDrill 805 carries the same standard inserts as CoroDrill 800.
Deep holes are defined by a high ratio between hole depth and hole diameter. Deep hole drilling is the preffered method for drilling hole depths of more than 10 x the diameter up to 150 x diameter. Sandvik Coromant are a world leading manufacturer of deep hole drilling systems.
