For the V603M, V613M and V630M drilling system the positioning of a profile is carried out by a machine integrated feeder rolls positioning system.
Both, the V603M as well as the V630M, are executed with one vertical and two horizontal servo-controlled drilling units. Therefore profiles can be drilled simultaneously in both flanges and in the web. With the rotating drilling unit of the V613M profiles can be drilled vertically as well as horizontally. This system can operate independently for long periods due to the automatic tool changers.
Combine with other systems
The drilling systems can be combined with a horizontal bandsawing machine, a hydraulic numbering machine and/or a beam coping system. For further automation of the pre-fabrication a Voortman shot blaster can be added to the production line. Therefore one operator can centrally control all these machines for drilling, sawing and shot blasting.
Software
Each drilling system is provided with a computer control, which can be integrated in the company’s network, so that DSTV- and DSTV+-data can be directly downloaded, from system files within the company database, to the drilling system. Also software to compose production batches will be installed.

Mitsui Seiki introduces 5-axis CNC laser drilling machine for high-speed, precision holemaking in tough alloys
[FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ – APRIL 2008] Mitsui Seiki has launched “VLD-300” a small, vertical, Nd:YAG laser drilling machine for 12-in. cube parts (300 mm x 300 mm x 300 mm in X, Y, Z axes). This machine was developed collaboratively with several aerospace engine component manufacturers who expressed a need for a higher-speed and more accurate laser-drilling machine than what was currently available on the market. It’s common for some workpieces, primarily jet engine high temperature alloy parts, to require about 3,000 small diameter cooling airflow holes – each at a different angle – to be drilled in a non-contact manner. Laser is often the best option for speed and to minimize material stress. Inconel, Waspalloy, Hastalloy, and nickel-based titanium alloys are the typical materials.
After three years in research and development, the VLD-300 offers positioning accuracy and repeatability in X, Y, Z-axes of 0.00004" (0.001 mm). A axis positioning accuracy is ±6 arc seconds; repeatability ±3 arc seconds. C-axis accuracy is ±4arc seconds; repeatability ±2 arc seconds. X, Y, Z-axes cutting feed rate is 0.004 ~ 787" (0.1 ~ 20,000 mm) X, Y, Z-axes acceleration rate is 1.5g.
Mitsui Seiki partnered with a European laser company for the Nd:YAG version of this new machine. The VLD-300 is designed to also work with CO2, diode pump, and fiber lasers for different aerospace and other industry applications, such as certain electronics, medical, and automotive parts.

The concept of Unicom 6000 is based on a moving table with integrated carousel turning station and an interface that can receive pallets of up to 2.500 mm in diameter. HD is a numerically controlled drilling unit, with a rigid framework, designed for fast working of all types of profiles, flat bars, angle sections, rectangular tubes, etc. up to 1200 x 600 mm.
Machine design (drilling spindles in frame centerline with guides eliminating all deflection during machining) makes a perfectly stable and exceptionally long lasting machine.

MDC-500 DETAILS
The MDC-500 Mill Drill Center from Haas is a state-of-the-art machining center that provides high-speed drilling and tapping, as well as full milling capabilities, in an affordable package designed to pump up a shop’s parts volume.
Speed and flexibility were the key design criteria for this innovative new machine. Dual fixture stations allow the operator to load and unload parts on one fixture while the machine mills, drills and taps parts on the other. Once machining is complete, a servo-powered, gear-drive indexer swaps the fixture stations in 4.7 seconds.
The MDC-500 has a generous work cube of 20" x 14" x 20" (xyz) and features a 7500-rpm, 40-taper spindle (10K and 15K spindles are optional).
