PMDC GEARED MOTOR
Design - Motor DC38 is a carbon brush DC motor which is used in combination with many Mech Tex gearheads. The standard gearheads used in conjunction with this motor are GB5P, GB5H, GB38OCP, GB3, GB4, GB7, GB8 & GBW. Depending on the
application, output speed, load applied, etc. the type of gearhead can be selected. Various types of gears i.e. poly acetal, sintered iron, brass or
steel gears can be used based on the requirement. Poly acetal or sintered gears damp the noise. Case hardened steel gears are always on the output for load considerations. Complete poly acetal gears are used when the output torque
required is low. Linear drive is possible with gearhead GB4, GB7, GBW with M6 x 1 mm pitch screw. The linear guide & screw arrangement can be done only on special request.

The new helical NORDBLOC gearedmotors
Getriebebau NORD has further developed the NORDBLOC series
compact block housing helical gearedmotors with new constructive
improvements. The drives now have lightweight aluminium die cast housings optimized with FEM calculations. The new design allows the mounting of larger, stronger bearings that permit higher radial and axial loads and so achieve a longer service life. The units can also be mounted more efficiently. Another instantly noticeable feature is that locking caps on the housings are no longer required, as openings previously needed for assembly, have been completely omitted in the new design. The launch of the new NORDBLOC generation will offer 2 sizes in dual stage design. Within short 8 sizes will be available in dual and triple stage design. New advantages have been added to established strengths: Economic direct motor mounting for example, is available as always. However with the new design very short, space- and weight-saving IEC adapters can also be attached. At the same time, the connection dimensions remain the same as earlier so that the new design can seamlessly replace an earlier model as needed.

The UNIVERSAL Worm Gear Unit SI represents a homogeneous gear module. The single-piece aluminium die cast housing has no cover or sealing joints. The rigid housing block ensures the highest degree of operational safety even with the highest load capacity. This variable worm gear range features a modular design. The IEC/NEMA motor mountings in connection with the helical pre-stage form completely mounted gear modules that can be easily assembled.
A variety of individual gear designs can be combined from few modules. The UNIVERSAL Worm Gear Unit SI features as standard foot mounting on three sides, B14 flanges on two sides and an output hollow shaft. Modules that enable various applications of the gear series are plug-in solid shafts, output-side bolt-on type flanges, torque arms or helical gear pre-stages.

Conventional DC motors use a stationary magnet with a rotating armature combining the commutation segments and brushes to provide automatic commutation. In comparison, the brushless DC motor is a reversed design: the permanent magnet is rotating whereas the windings are part of the stator and can be energized without requiring a commutator-and-brush system. Therefore this motor type achieves very long, trouble-free life even while operating at very high speeds.
