The induction motor is the most commonly used type of ac motor. Its simple, rugged construction costs relatively little to manufacture. The induction motor has a rotor that is not connected to an external source of voltage. The induction motor derives its name from the fact that ac voltages are induced in the rotor circuit by the rotating magnetic field of the stator.
ARC's complete lines of AC Induction Motors are manufactured using a squirrel cage rotor utilizing both aluminum and copper bars. Speed and torque can be tailored to individual requirements by changing the conductivity of the rotor bars. Custom units that operate at other frequencies are available.

Product Overview
The TOTALLY ENCLOSED TUBE COOLED TITAN® motor type JT has a cast iron and heavy fabricated steel construction with oversized grease lubricated antifriction bearings. To ensure a high degree of corrosion resistance, steel tube construction is standard. Further, the top hat assembly is treated with a Vacuum Pressure Impregnation cycle of 100% solid epoxy coating all surfaces. The VPI system, along with other internal and external protective treatments, provides exceptional durability in hostile environments. The winding is constructed with full Class F materials and receives two cycles of 100% solid epoxy VPI.

Mounting information
The foot mounting system offers great flexibility and it is quite simple allowing change on the mounting configuration without requiring any machining or modification on the motor feet.
Motor terminal box can also be rotated at 90 degrees allowing motor leads to be connected on any motor side.

The three-phase motors 3MA series, closed, externally fan cooled, manufactured according to the main international standards and particularly to the IEC 34 and 72 rules , are available in the sizes from 63 up to 132 , with pole number 2, 4,6 and 8 and with output power from 0,12 kW up to 11 kW.
They are featured by aluminium die-cast frame with removable feet, by the IP 55 protection level, by the F class insulation and by shielded type for life lubricated bearings.

The asynchronous motors of the series 13.710 are compact and space-saving. Available in a power range from 12 to 90 W, these motors are naturally ventilated. Since they do not have a fan they have low noise emissions and can be applied in production areas with fluff or dust. The motors are available with solid shaft and keyway, with flange mounting and can be fitted with a brake.

BM series are asynchronous, three phase, self-braking. BM series power range is from 0.06 kW up to 11 kW. The motor brakes in case of power supply failure. The brake supply is DC as standard with the rectifier built in the terminal box. On request is possible to have a separate brake supply. The rectifier is supplied with an over-voltage and radio frequency emission protection.
BM series is projected to withstand high overheating guaranteeing high reliability, also under severe operating conditions.
BM series is suitable to be controlled by inverters. The winding insulation class is F. Class H available on request.
Motor enclosure is TEFC, IP54 protection degree (IP55/IP56 available on request). An hexagonal hole is present on the shaft end to allow manual rotation (up to 132 frame size). All the BM series motors can be provided with the brake hand release.
Shields and flanges are aluminium made for motors up to 90 frame size, and cast iron for motor frame size from 100 up to 132. On request 132 frame size motors can be supplied with cast iron frame.
BM series main features are a robust construction, an extremely silent running and braking, the gradual braking action and motor starting, and a notable compactness in dimensions. All MGM motors are CSA approved.
