As a manufacturer of Energy Chains® and special Energy Chain® cables, igus® uses the possibility of testing many different types of chains and cables on a practice-oriented basis At the company-own technical training center in Cologne, numerous series of tests are carried out on a parallel basis under the most difficult conditions. At the present time, there are more than 35 test setups with their test results being summarized in databases. This extensive, current data pool provides precise, reliable information on the actual service life and is also the basis of new product developments at the company. The test data for Energy Chains® and cables, but also for ready-made systems, are, however, described in such detailed form that igus® confirms a functional guarantee for its Energy Chain Systems®.

The conductors in Ceander cable are made of copper or aluminium. Round conductors are normally used: single-wire up to 10 mm2 and multi-wire from 16 mm2 upwards. For larger cross-sections (150 + 240 mm2), single-wire sector-form aluminium conductors are also used. The conductor insulation is mainly made of cross-linked EPR.
Protection for people is provided by the concentric outer conductor (PEN conductor), applied in the form of a sinusoidal line. The electrical cross-connection is ensured by a copper band. Protection against corrosion is provided by a halogen-free black outer casing with two lengthwise yellow strips.

Recommended for use in rooms with the risk of fire or explosion thanks to its explosionproof characteristics (ITC-BT-29) and in all places requiring mechanical cable protection or special tensile strength during laying.
The entire range of ARMIGRON-M UNFIRE cables are Non Flame-Propagating as per EN 50266 (corresponding to the international IEC60332-3). Their hydrocarbon resistance property makes them essential in environments in which the cable may undergo chemical attack from this type of compound.
As the 70 mm2 section inclusive, the SECTORFLEX configuration is offered with a flexible sectorial conductor that, with the same electrical properties and the same conventional terminals and accessories as circular cable, provides a lower cable diameter and weight that significantly increases its ease of handling and installation.

Inter-8® Weave Cable has applications to many interference problems. Current-carrying conductors generating interference fields can be replaced with INTER-8 WEAVE cable to substantially reduce radiation. In low impedance circuits where external interference results in disturbing signals, Inter-8® Weave Cable will reduce the circuit sensitivity to the external fields. Among typical applications are cable connections to strain gages, thermocouples, photoelectric detectors, audio coils and transformers, piezoelectric transducers and preamplifiers.
SPIRA-SHIELD is flexible conduit that provides high permeability magnetic shielding for sensitive cables and conductors. Constructed of .010" thick CO-NETIC AA Alloy, SPIRA-SHIELD provides greater attenuation than braided sleeving and also furnishes physical protection. Among typical applications are ground support and communication equipment, shipboard control systems, audio-level interconnections, sensitive instrumentation and aerospace apparatus.
Co-Netic® Braided Sleeving, constructed of 36 or 34 AWG CO-NETIC AA high permeability wire, provides superior flexibility compared to foil that is spiral or channel wrapped around cable.
CO-NETIC AA wire in .005" diameter is widely used in magnetic shielding braid applied over cables. All gauges have applications where high permeability, low coercive force and ferromagnetic properties are required. CO-NETIC AA wire is corrosion resistant and has an affinity for solder. Meets MIL-N-14411, Composition I.

More and more OEM manufacturers are finding difficulties sourcing certain components for custom applications due to the lack of producers who are willing to make small runs at a reasonable price.
