Because of permanent injuries risk in industries, there are more health and safety requirements in harsh environments. Marechal decontactors (DXN, DX, SPeX) comply with ATEX Directives 94/9/CE and 99/92/CE required for these areas.
Thanks to their explosion proof casings and their “de” protection mode, they can apply in explosive atmospheres in zones 1 & 2 (gas) and zones 21 & 22 (dust). Their safety load break switch capability allows a disconnection up to 63 A without any electrocution hazard for users.
The DXN decontactor is EX approved for zones 1 & 2 (gas) and zones 21 & 22 (dust). It offers automatic IP66/IP67 ingress protection rating as soon as the plug is inserted into the socket. Its casing made by glassfibre-reinforced polyester affords an excellent mechanical protection (IK08) and resistance to extreme temperatures (-40 °C to +60 °C). From 20 to 63 A, it can be used for mobile gensets, ship-to-shore supplies, offshore platforms etc.

BARTEC’s plug-and-socket devices for areas in which an explosion hazard exists are particularly well-suited for use in raw atmospheres because of their high degree of IP protection and their resistance to chemicals. Their integrated switch function gives them the ability to switch overloads as per IEC/EN 60947-3 Cat. AC 22 or AC 23.Silver-plated butting contacts ensure a constant contact pressure with low transfer resistances.
Plugs/couplers:
The modular design of the plug-and-socket system allows both plugs and couplers to be supplied. They are supplied in unmounted state.
Wall socket:
BARTEC supplies both a fully certified wall socket and a socket with a 30° adapter to flange onto housings.
Plug-and-socket devices from BARTEC are approved in accordance with the European directives not only for Zone 1 and 2, but also for Zone 21 and 22. Likewise for Class I Div. 2 Groups A, B, C, D and Class II Div. 2, Groups E, F, H in accordance with the American standards.

Conventional high current plugs and socket-outlets are difficult to handle and don't guarantee watertight for plug insertion and removal.
Marechal Electric well known for its safe and robust, offers a product line that goes from 315 to 700 A and up to 1000 V a.c. Usually used in harsh environments, they are automatically watertight IP66/IP67 as soon as the plug is inserted in the socket and offer a high resistance to shocks (IK08/IK10). Built with silver-nickel butt contacts, they are corrosion resistant and provide a high electrical performance even after years of use.
Simple to connect and disconnect, Marechal connectors and plugs and sockets are safe for users and equipment through its pilot contacts that de-energize the circuit when the mechanical lock opens.
They are ideally suited for power supply to machines for mining, ship, power generator system, shipyard and other harsh environments requiring high current connections.

In case of a fire in a tunnel, the industrial plugs and socket-outlets must guarantee the electrical continuity. Up to now, no connector complied with the IEC/ EN 12101-3 standard, smoke extraction devices were directly wired, leading to expensive maintenance periods.
Today the new Marechal connector DSHT 400 °C, with its on-load breaking capacity now reduces the time to isolate and disconnect a fan to just seconds. Until 63 A it can disconnect equipments in total safety.
Mounted on aluminium boxes, the 3P+E 690 V connector is certified CSTB, means it can withstand 400°C for 2 hours.
The pollution, dust and humidity in tunnels, require robust plugs and socket-outlets. Its shocks resistance IK09, its automatic IP55 and its load break capacity AC-22, satisfy those requirements.
The DS HT are ideally suited for tunnels and extraction fans.

SCAME, ADVANCE 2 Series, interlocked socket outlets have smooth and well-connected surfaces, with no sharp edge or lines, included the hand grip, which ensure top safety and ergonomic use as well as easy cleaning, being installed in environments that particularly need such requirement.
A vertical convex strip symmetrically runs along the front side, gathering the handgrip control, which can be also provided with lock, the transparent opening for the monitoring of switches or protective fuses that connect down with the socket, following the round profile of the cover and being a sort of functional axis of the product.
