This chapter illustrates the technical characteristics of FM enclosures for distribution
boards and of ILME industrial socket-outlets for which these enclosures are
designed.
It is possible to use SQ interlocked socket-outlets for industrial use (with or without
protection devices), simple flush-mounting Pluso socket-outlets (without interlock)
and compartments for modular units.
These components enable to configure a wide range of distribution boards, both
mass-produced (AS) and custom-made (ANS), suitable to meet all possible installation
needs.
FM enclosures for distribution boards offer tested reliability and can be used, in combination
with FM socket-outlets for industrial use, as integrated modular systems to
configure distribution boards for industrial socket-outlets. Distribution boards with
ILME enclosures and socket-outlets can be installed in:
- Industrial applications
- Services applications (commercial, exhibitions, etc.)
- Agricultural and livestock breeding applications
- Residential and similar applications (i.e. common areas of condominiums, cellars,

The recently developed CUBEx control enclosure product line from R. STAHL now makes it possible to combine compex control and distribution panels into comprehensive, space-saving units. Adds a whole new dimension to individualised and flexible solutions for your applications. Other customer-specified control and distribution panel designs are also possible. The CUBEx system increases the flexibility of your applications and ensures that all internationally recognised installation technologies can be employed. All standard, commercially-available electrical equipment can be installed. The space-saving design of this IIB enclosure enables a mounting distance of just 10 mm between units. Moreover, flameproof enclosures incorporating "D2D" technology enable the direct connection enclosures or terminal chambers are required. CUBEx is the logical next step in the development of IIC tchnology integrated in the renowend 8220 Series. For use in Group IIB hazardous areas in Zone 1 and Zone 2 or Zone 21 and Zone 22.
The main connection switch of the lighting and heating panels CUBEx Series 8264/5-ExV is operated through the side wall via an actuation mechanism. The circuit breakers are fitted on the second mounting level and are actuated via totary drives. As an option it is possible to fit test keys to the ELCBs to make it possible to actuate the back wall of the enclosure for fixing the devices. Cable entry is done directly via tapped holes, wired directly to the switches. For current distribution the original comb type rails are used at the switching units. A typical design allows for 12 or 24 circuit breakers. Different designs upon request.

With our outdoor enclosures we construct cabinet systems, which have been weather tested and are extremely stable. The electronic components used outdoors are optimally protected from wind, rain, heat, cold and vandalism.
Schroff offer two standardised outdoor cabinets: "Modular" or "Unibody". Flexible assembly possibilities are possible with 19"" technology, ETSI or other non-standard accessories. With the EMC version, rubber seals or foam seals, which are combined with a metallic mesh, provide protection to IP55 which can be guaranteed. The seals can be replaced if they are damaged.
The cabinets conform to the guide lines and standards for shock and vibration and are tested to IEC 68-2-6 and -27, plus ETS 300 019 for safety during earthquakes. Climate control is tested to IEC 68-2-1, -2, -14.
