HAM offers a large range of standard tools for multiple cutting tasks for the industrial consumer. Our variety of products covers end-mills with a special cutting geometry for Aluminium as well as end-mills for hardened material, which gradually reduce the need for electrical discharging processes in mould and die industry. With HAM´s standard tools it is possible to machine hardened steel up to 63 HRC without problems and economically. We have also developed a special line of tools designed for use of minimum lubrication or dry machining.
HAM is permanently trying to improve the quality of the carbides in close cooperation with its suppliers. Our engineers test and retest the coatings of the tools in our technology centre in order to achieve the best suitable solution.
To be recognized as a system supplier that serves complete solutions, HAM has enlarged its product range with brazed and indexable tools. These products are offered as standards or as specials tools according to customer drawing.

The new Protostar Flash is a high-performance tool for economical roughing in the 2.5D and 3D range with low cutting depth and very high feed rates. It is suitable for machining alloyed and unalloyed steels.
Extremely tough: the new Protostar Qmax with optimised geometry for maximum material removal rates in sophisticated materials.
Protostar Flash
The all-new end face geometry enables significantly higher tooth feed rates fz for faster material removal rates
High-quality TiAlN coating for maximum tool life
Since cutting takes place exclusively on the end face of the tool, the machine spindle is subjected almost only to axial forces that are easily absorbed
Protostar Qmax
Solid carbide milling cutter with knurled splines reduces cutting forces and generates short chips
Internal cooling aids chip removal and increases process reliability
Very good roughed surface due to improved roughing profile
All tools have the latest TiAlN coating offering advantages for dry and wet machining

Roughers, or “hoggers”, are useful for rapid removal of large amounts of material. The chip groove design allows for more cutting fluid to the cutting edge and dissipates heat better. There is a wide range of variations in rougher profile forms for different material groups. The coarser the pitch of the roughing edge, the more material removed and the less smooth the finish. In addition, most roughers have eccentric relief so regrinding can be done only using the cutting face. This saves you if you have access to regrinding equipment.
Series 621 - Fine Pitch Roughers (.048 Pitch)
Series 620 - Medium Pitch Rougher (.062 Pitch)
622 - Coarse Pitch Roughers (.105 Pitch)

SERF (Sinusoidal Edge Rougher Finisher) design provides the benefits of a roughing mill with the edge quality of a finishing mill in a Polycrystalline Diamond double-flute tool on solid-carbide body.
The unique SERF geometry results in reduced impact forces during the cut resulting in longer tool life, less cutting force, greater feed rates and reduced noise.
Edge finish in fibrous composite materials is improved due to the overlapping sinusoidal edge pattern which is designed to impart a fiber shearing action during the cut.
Usage: Carbon Fiber, G-10 and other Fiberglass

WELDON 2AR Rougher:
Our 2AR is designed for roughing non-ferrous materials where the application demands a high metal removal rate.
The 2AR tools come standard with a corner chamfer for aggressive speeds and feeds. We have combined a highshear, 40 degree helix with a cylindrical margin for chatter resistant, smooth machining in all non-ferrous materials. While primarily a roughing tool, the 2AR can also handle
finishing applications.
The 2AR is available from stock as a bright tool or with Zirconium Nitride (ZrN) and Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coatings for improved performance and extended tool life. Special quotes and non-stocked coatings are available upon request.
WELDON 3SR Rougher:
This three flute, premium carbide tool is designed specifically for roughing operations in steel and ferrous alloys. A full eccentric primary grind, standard corner chamfers and a 40 degree flute helix ensure excellent chip evacuation, corner protection and superior metal removal rates. The 3SR is
particularly well suited to roughing and rough slotting. Aluminum Titanium Nitride (AlTiN) and Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coated tools are all available from stock in stub and standard lengths. Special quotes and non-stocked coatings are available upon request.
