Voortman has developed five models of band sawing machines especially for sawing structural steel. Four sawing machines are developed for mitre cutting. The fifth is designed for straight cutting of profiles. The sawing machines are equipped with a control system for the selection of the mitre angle and the automatic sawing cycle.
The band speed is frequency controlled and the feed rate is automatically controlled to suit the profile type and size.
The sawing machines can be combined with a length measuring system with stop truck. The sawing machine can also be combined with a drilling system for sawing and drilling in one continuous process.
These sawing machines are available with different cutting capacities. The VB600 for sawing max. 450 x 620 mm, the VB750 for 450 x 750 mm, the VB1050 for 500 x 1.130 mm and the VB1250 for 600 x 1 250 mm. |

Shark 452 CCS, bandsawing machine TO EXECUTE SINGLE CUTS WITHOUT THE NEED OF AN OPERATOR on sections and beams up to 450x330 mm at 0°.
- It is a very versatile machine to cut from 60° left up to 60° right.
- Functioning: after having manually fed the bar and clamped the material, you start the cut which is done using the weight of the head controlled by a spring so as to balance the sawing head. By means of an hydraulic brake with a valve you can regulate the downfeed speed. Once the cut has been finished the sawing head is raised manually so that you can feed the bar again (as OPTIONAL you can have the head which returns to top position by means of an hydraulic unit after each cut).
In the Shark 452 CCS MA model (with an automatic vice) vice opens/closes by means of a button on the control panel.

Blade Tension: Manual tension (30,000 psi) provides consistent square cutting accuracy. The blade tension devise comes to a positive stop assuring the proper tension after each blade change.
Speed Range: Blade speed is variable through a precision balanced step pulley and heavy-duty worm gear transmission. Blade speeds are 90, 140, 220 and 320 SFPM. The broad speed range allows for optimum cutting of a large spectrum of materials.
Hydraulic Down Feed: Infinitely variable feed rate is hydraulically controlled for fast, accurate cutting. Settings are made at the operator's station.

Blade Guides: Carbide Blade Guides provides reduced vibration, heat and blade stress providing longer blade life and accuracies of + .002 per inch of cut material.
Chip Brush: Powered from the drive wheel of the saw, the brush changes speed with the blade to assure that chips are being removed from each gullet, improving cutting performance and blade life.
Vise Jaw: The Quick Acting vise jaw arrangement makes material clamping fast and easy while always holding the work piece secure. The cast iron vise jaws can be quickly positioned next to the material size, then manually clamped using the dual cam-lock device from either the front or rear of the machine.
Swivel: The saw frame swivels a full 60 degrees for added capabilities for miter cutting. The pivot shaft has sealed bearings for maintenance free operation, while a pointer and angle scale make setup fast and easy.
Operators Control Panel: Operation of the machine is made safe and easy from the fixed position control panel. Control Voltage is 110V.
