Planetary gear cam limit switches
Series 51
Standard switches
51 series geared cam limit switches are universal mechanical switching devices that have been designed for use in conjunction with cam discs based on a specific angle of rotation for indication of a large number of shaft revolutions. These cam discs serve to operate mechanical contacts. Geared cam limit switches are used wherever specific ranges of travel cannot be directly limited by switchgears but only indirectly via measurements of the angle of rotation. A classic example of such an application is limitation of the hook travel of crane hoisting gear.
Especially where there is a danger to persons and the use of positive opening switching contacts is required according to VDE 0660 T200, EN 60947 T5-1, IEC 947-5-1, the use of geared cam limit switches is the most efficient alternative.

Worm gear cam limit switches
Series HGE
Standard switches
HGE series geared limit switches are universal mechanical switching devices for industrial applications.
They consist of a reduction gear and one or two contact spaces containing the switching contacts and the co-ordinated cam discs.
By the reduction gear a number of revolutions, which are transmitted to the input shaft of the geared limit switch, are reduced to an angle of rotation at the cam disc of max. 320° (with 40° cam discs).
Then the adjustable cam discs actuate the mechanical switching contacts.
By utilisation of mechanical switching contacts with forced separation to VDE 0660 part 200, limit switches are preferably used in the hoisting technology.
For that purpose the entire mechanical construction from the input shaft up to the contact bridge is positively driven. The only exception are the cam discs "V", which are fitted when particularly required by the customer, and the block adjustment.
Construction
* In relation to the reduction, the gearbox is designed either as worm gear or worm spur gear.
* All gear parts are made of metal and are lifetime-lubricated with high-quality gear lubrication Spectron F00.
* All housing parts consist of seawater-proof aluminium.
* The input shaft is made of stainless steel.
* Input shaft and switching shaft are ball bearinged.
* In relation to the number of contacts, the contacts are located in one or two switching spaces.
* With one switching space only, right-side or left-side arrangement to the input shaft can be selected optionally.

Sophisticated yet simple to operate, this robust, small footprint, machine is already setting the benchmark in its market.
Designed and developed in the UK it combines rigidity and high power, for either CBN or conventional deep grinding operations, with the highest levels of accuracy and finish.
Fast set-ups optimise productivity, whilst the advanced and highly integrated user interface enables an operator to easily produce a finished component from a design drawing.
Such performance is ideal for producing all types of spur, helical and worms gears, and the machine is configurable for grinding ball screws, small compressor rotors, internal gears and threads.
Typical applications include high-performance aerospace, automotive, precision motion, low noise and master gears.
An on-board 3D scanning probe maximises accuracy using profile correction feedback and improves productivity by removing the need for off-machine profile inspection.
We provide a comprehensive package of design advice and manufacturing expertise that ensures the highest levels of precision and performance.
This, together with our unique ability to manufacture both machines and bespoke components, allows us to fully understand your manufacturing requirements.

As one of the largest manufacturers of gear cutting tools worldwide, our tool manufacturing programme features a wide range of shaper cutters, branded Samputensili, Fellows and Star SU, including disk-type shaper cutters, deep counterbore-type shaper cutters and shank-type shaper cutters. Our shaper cutters are generally ground for pre-finishing and finishing operations, although in certain cases they may also be supplied unground.
Min. / Max. module: 0,5 - 8,0 mm
Max. diameter: 300 mm
Profile modifications: tooth tip chamfer, protuberance, topping, flank modifications for tip and/or root relief on gear, modification of pressure angle, combinations of several of the above modifications.
Materials: various high-speed steels produced by powder metallurgy. Other materials are available on request.
Special profiles / profile modifications for chain sprockets, cams, splines, timing belts and large modules.
Our Express programme features X4®shaper cutters. We not only guarantee supply of your shaper cutters including coating in just 4 weeks (20 working days), but, in comparison with conventional shaper cutters, our X4® tools also offer you significant cost saving advantages, since the shorter usable profile reduces both production costs and delivery times. Moreover, advanced manufacturing techniques have improved the quality of our X4® shaper cutters.

Roll scan inspection means that gears are scanned in rolling contact with a special inspection gear. The instrument combines the simple, robust and temperature stable design of the single flank gear rolling inspection with the greatest information density of modern coordination measuring technology, yet the measuring time remains short.

Rocking type inspection instruments for gears and splines are a cost-efficient solution for single productions and small batches. With a bit of skill, the actual dimension over and between balls, i.e. the highest measurement point, can be found by rocking the instrument. We recommend a Frenco UPM-certificate for all VA inspection instruments in order to verify a sufficiently small measuring uncertainty regarding the tolerance to be measured.

Final inspection measuring machines
Automatic final inspection measuring machines are always made individually according to customer specifications whereby the degree of automation depends basically on the required production quantity and the set measuring task.
High measuring speeds, classification, signing and sorting possibilities and the exclusion of external influences are excellent features of these machines.

Backlash B-Gone! At last, a linear encoder solution with no back-lash or slippage. The NEW TR2 Tru-Trac™ is a versatile solution for tracking velocity, position, or distance in almost any application, featuring an integrated encoder with a rack and pinion gear assembly. Using the Rack and Pinion gear system, encoder readings can be obtained with repeatable positioning, providing excellent accuracy. Racks can be ordered in varying lengths, and with the accessory spacer block, multiple lengths of rack can be joined for easy installation (see TB-522 for details).
Due to the spring loaded torsion arm, which provides simple to adjust torsion load, the TR2 has all the flexibility and maneuverability of the original TR1 Tru-Trac™. It has the ability to be installed in a horizontal, vertical, or upside down position. The threaded shaft on the pivot axis is field reversible, providing mounting access from either side, and the durable conductive composite housing material will eliminate static build up. With so many configuration options in a simple integrated encoder solution, it is easy to see that the TR2 is on the right Track for success!
