The semiconductive reluctance elemental device (single crystal InSb) of high sensitivity was designed for the noncontact potentiometers.
Excellent characteristics by matching with the magnetic circuitry are exhibited.
There is the following advantage because it is the contact-less structure that a magnet was combined with the reluctance elemental device unlike slide wire potentiometer.
- Long life time because a resistor isn't worn away.
- Low torque because a shaft is held by the ball bearing.
- Mechanical response is excellent and electric response exceeds the mechanical response fully.
The angle detection of ± 50° is possible.

IGP Series
Using this potentiometer a maximum angular rotation of 3800° can be converted into a voltage proportional to the angle of rotation, through the medium of a conductive-plastic potentiometer.
This special "heavy-duty" version is designed to measure angular or linear displacement under the most difficult of enviromentat conditions. Simply yet robustly built, these units are suitable for use in all manner of industrial applications and engineering industry.
The cast housing is watertight. The single stage gearing is exceptionally backlash-free. Heavy-duty bearings allow for high axial loading on the shaft; gearwheels or even chain drives may be used directly drive the shaft.
Sealing is achieved through the use of a stepped bush whilst electrical connections are made via plug and socket mounted on the side of the unit.

Any number of cam-operated microswitches and a other options such as a slipping clutch for manual override can be provided. There is also a range of control cards available, sutable for use with an analogue set point control signal. |

These potentiometers have many technical advantages. They make it possible to provide in a simple and economic way absolute set points.
To 5 potentiometers (of 100 Ohm with 100 kohm 5W) of high-resolution (0,02%) can be gone up on the same case, while remaining very compact.
These apparatuses integrate to 9 cams for the intermediate ends of the road, or other points and exist in version 24V-240V AC or 12-24V cd., with a large variety of cycle time.

Honeywell linear and rotary potentiometers measure linear, rotary position or displacement. Use a tried and true potentiometric technology originally developed for military applications and more recently applied to industrial markets. The proprietary MystR® conductive plastic has extensive temperature range, infinite resolution and provides absolute position measurement on power-up. Intermediate signal conditioning is not required for normal ratiometric position sensing. Very small stroke units (5 mm [0.2 in]), and units required to withstand exposure to harsh chemicals, function immersed in different oils or water, are available.
