Working:
Dirty fluid is fed under pressure in to inlet manifold. It is distributed equally in 4 different plates. Filter papers clamped & supported between plates separate the dirt & form a layer (cake). This effects finer filtration. The same filter with pre-coating can add further to fineness of filtration.
Applications:
Suitable as centralized fine coolant filtration for finish grinding, filtration of high viscosity grinding fluids & filtration of honing oil with pre-coat arrangement.
Features:
Very large filtration area is accommodated relatively small dimensions. The unit shown is having 10 m2 filtration area.
Totally automatic pneumatically actuated operation.
Dirt is purged with compressed air to recover fluid.
Low initial & operational costs.

The rotary vacuum drum filter (RVDF) is one of the oldest filters applied to industrial liquid filtration. A rotary drum filter resembles a large drum on its side. Half of the drum is submerged in the slurry, with the other half above it. The filter cloth winds around the drum and as the drum rotates, the slurry is sucked into the cloth. As the drum rotates out of the slurry, the cake is dried. This drying is caused by the vacuum continuously being drawn through the cake in the exposed section of the drum. At the end of the rotation cycle, at approximately a three o'clock position, the filter cake will be discharged and the process repeats itself. The filters may incorporate a drum cloth that is caulked onto the drum itself, or they may utilize an endless belt which tracks off and discharges away from the drum.
Typical Applications:
- Kaolin clay
- Titanium dioxide
- Alumina (red mud)
- Pharmaceuticals
- Chemical Processing
- Food processing (starches)

DCF Self Cleaning Filter
The filters are based on a simple concept: A cylindrical stainless steel housing contains a filter screen; unfiltered liquids enter the inlet; solids are deposited on the interior surface of the filtration media; and filtered fluid exits at the outlet.
Twin DCF
Designed for the rigors of processing highly viscous, abrasive, sticky, or otherwise hard to process liquids. The Twin is ideal for a broad spectrum of challenging applications. Systems are available in 800 and 1600 sizes, to accommodate a wide range of flow and retention requirements to fit your application.

Polytech's conventional vacuum filters provide reliable automatic filtration of water based machine tool coolants and are suitable for coarse or fine solid contaminants and coolant flow rates from 20 to over 600 gallons per minute. Conventional vacuum filters utilize the difference in pressure between the dirty coolant tank at atmospheric pressure and the lower pressure created by the centrifugal pump's suction characteristics to force coolant through a non-woven filter fabric. The filter pump supplies clean, filtered coolant to service. These systems use a robust sludge conveyor to transport spent filter media and solid contaminants from the filter while a clean coolant reservoir provides a means of supplying coolant while the filter media indexes so that there is no interruption in coolant supply to the machine tool(s).
Conventional vacuum filters can typically provide 5 PSI differential pressure across the filter media so that coolant flow rates and contaminant loading per square foot far exceeds the capability of gravity type filters. The non-pressurized design is more reliable than pressure filters that require complex media handling and sealing arrangements. The automatic, unattended operation is much easier and less labor intensive than cartridge or bag filters that require manual filter changes.

Gravity filtration
Head pressure of incoming coolant forces particulates over weirs or through a continuously moving media barrier. Clean coolant is then sent back to process.
|
|
Vacuum Filtration
Vacuum suction is used to remove small contaminants from the spent coolant. A vacuum pump draws contaminated coolant through the filter screen. As the filter continues to run, it builds up a thick residue on its surface, known as filter cake, which traps even smaller contaminants and keeps them from migrating thorugh the filter screen.

The automatic backwash filter BOXER A/AD offers the maximum comfort. The backwash process is released by timer-control. The backwash interval can be set between 7 and 90 days. However, the backwash process may also be released manually. The ergonomically shaped one-hand turning handle as well as the special backwash valve facilitate the release of the backwash even in case of high water pressure. Furthermore, the valve is designed in a way that it closes automatically.

The bag filter is an advanced filter system with a basket strainer. An unfiltered liquid enters the housing above the bag or basket and passes down through them. Solids are contained inside the bag or basket, where they are easily and completely removed when the unit is serviced.
The bag filter's characteristics are high-precision, high-efficient and stability and it is designed and constructed in compliance with three major filtration principles: superb filtration , surface filtration and adsorption filtration.

General description
HOFFMANN belt filters operate on the gravity filtration principle. Depending on the level of filtering required, filter paper with differing degrees of porosity are used.
These filters cleanse emulsions and low-viscosity oils used in machining of steel, castings, aluminum and other nonferrous metals. We recommend using stainless steel models when handling aggressive fluids, such as wastewater and chemicals.

The MonoScour filter is a heavy duty, high rate gravity filter designed for treating high turbidity loads and difficult particulates such as those typically encountered following chemical treatment with polymers and coagulants. It is particularly useful following clarifiers, lime softeners, in wastewater applications, cooling tower side stream filtration and all other gravity filter applications where high filtering rates are required.
The MonoScour filter is fully automatic and incorporates a self-contained backwash compartment that eliminates the need for backwash pumps and tanks. It also includes a vigorous air scour step to efficiently clean the filter media while minimizing the volume of backwash water consumed.
The Monovalve gravity filter is the predecessor to our Monoscour Filter product line.

Bunting General-Purpose Grate Magnets provide a properly configured, high-density magnetic field to trap and hold ferrous fines, fragments, and small metal objects. Stainless steel tubing and frames are welded into strong, integral units. They can be installed - or simply laid - inside hoppers, housings, and bins - and easily removed for cleaning. Grates are built for low-abrasion applications and should measure at least twice the size of your outlet opening, so as not to restrict product flow.
General-Purpose Grate Magnets consist of multi-polarity 1-inch diameter cartridges arranged on 2-inch centers. They're available in round, square, and rectangular configurations from 4" through 36" in size. They can be ordered without baffles for freer flowing materials, and with angular baffles for maximum magnetic protection.

Contaminated oil is drawn into the Parker Portable Purification System (PVS) by a vacuum of 25 In/Hg. The oil passes through the in-line low watt density heater where the oil is heated to an optimum temperature of 150° F (66°C).
The oil then enters the distillation column where it is exposed to the vacuum through the use of special dispersal elements. This increases the exposed surface area of the oil and converts the water to vapor form, which is then drawn through the condenser by the vacuum pump.
The water-free oil falls to the bottom of the column and is removed by a heavy duty lube oil pump. This pump forces the dry oil through a final particulate removal filter. Clean oil passes out of the unit, back to the reservoir — and into the system.
