The Process Filtration Division of Parker Hannifin, the world’s largest manufacturer of motion and control technologies, has launched an innovative new range of high performance filtration cartridges, designed to help plant and process engineers make significant reductions in the installation, maintenance and operating costs of filtration systems. Called ParMax, the new large diameter filter cartridges offer exceptionally high levels of dirt retention combined with long filter life; perhaps as importantly, the design of new professional filters means that a single cartridge can be used to replace up to ten conventional units.
The ParMax filter cartridge has been designed to be a direct replacement to the Pall Ultipleat HFU cartridge. ParMax combines inside to outside flow with a pleated filter layer, which will allow cleaner changes and a considerable reduction in the carry over of contamination, giving a much longer operating life than can be expected with conventional elements. This extended operating life means less downtime as filters do not need to be changed as frequently.
In addition, a ParMax cartridge 6” in diameter and 60” in length can typically handle flows of 114m3 per hour, with a single Parker cartridge being able to replace up to ten traditional 2.5” by 40” filter units. This again reduces operating costs, as change-out times can be cut by a factor of ten, and minimises the initial investment, leading to a significant fall in the overall cost of ownership.
The high flow filter elements feature a unique layered construction providing excellent retention across a wide range of flux rates. The cartridges are available in polypropylene and microfibre glass media with absolute (99.98%) micro ratings from 1 to 90 microns. The polypropylene filter combines pleated and depth media, with a graded density layer for exceptional levels of filtration, while the microfibre glass version enhances flow due to its hydrophilic properties.
The ParMax cartridges are ideal for use in make up water and flush water systems in the metalworking, power generation, process water, chemical processing/petrochemical, and food and beverage industries, with all materials used being acceptable for potable and edible contact.

The reliability and efficiency of any filtration system is chiefly dependent on the quality of the cartridges used in it. Our full line of quality HILCO cartridges includes various sizes, filtration efficiencies and dirt-holding capacities for virtually every application. HILCO can restore many oils and coolants to a like-new condition.
All cartridges are developed to provide long service life and high quality. Many different media are specially selected, formulated and fine tuned on a regular basis to provide the most effective combination of fluid compatibility, particle-separation efficiency, low pressure drop and structural properties.
Controlled radius pleats are designed to maximize filtration area and dirt-holding capacity while resisting pinching, distortion and rupture. Gasket materials and industrial adhesives are selected based on their compatibility with fluids and operating temperatures of each application. Cartridges feature rugged, fiberglass filled nylon and plated steel centertubes which resist collapse at high pressure differentials.
Fuel gas, process gas, professional seal gas, H2O injection, and transformer oil applications can also be accommodated by HILCO. We also make HILCO-quality replacements for other brands of cartridges used in lube oil and fuel oil applications.

CPD pleated polypropylene depth cartridges are designed for clarifying applications requiring high flow capacity. The depth media utilized in the CPD product line is high loft Melt-blown polypropylene which gives exceptional flow characteristics and high dirt holding capacity because of its high internal porosity. Fine polypropylene fibers are bonded together to ensure no fiber release in a fiber matrix that maintains high porosity. Rated at 99.9% efficiencies make it a cost effective professional filter designed to extend final filter life.

An Important Advance in Cartridge Filtration:
Now you can have all the benefits of cartridge filtration for industrial and commercial applications - while getting complete corrosion resistance. Hayward's one-piece, seamless, plastic-body cartridge filters will never rust or corrode, nor will they contaminate the process fluid.
Thousands of Applications:
Hayward's Series 4200 all-plastic cartridge professional filters have been designed to work in the most demanding of applications - whether for high purity water or aggressive chemical filtration. These heavy-wall-housing filters will withstand operating pressures of up to 150 PSI with no problem. Series 4200 filters will work in corrosive atmospheres and harsh environments, places where a metal housing would have to be painted or epoxy-coated just to survive. All this, plus light weight and easy installation, make the Hayward Series 4200 cartridge filter right for your application.
The Right Configuration for Your Application:
Series 4200 cartridge filter housings are offered in three sizes - making it easier to choose the exact filter for your application requirements. And you can choose between two types of Hayward cartridges. Hayward HC cellulose cartridges are perfect for all types of water filtration up to 165°F. Their special design packs 47 sq ft of filter media into a 16" tall cartridge. Hayward PF polypropylene cartridges are silicone-free and feature graded density construction for superior particle retention.
Duplex Models:
Choose a Hayward Series 4200 duplex cartridge filter for those applications where the pipeline flow cannot be shut down to change out manufacturers of filter cartridges. Duplex filters allow the pipeline flow to be diverted to one of the two filter housings. This permits the off-line housing to be serviced without flow shutdown.
