FLAME RETARDANT GARMENTS PART OF THE 3-LAYER SYSTEM! Contact with open fire, hot surfaces or radiant heat is a reality in many workplaces. In industry, on construction sites and in many other trades it is important to protect yourself and your employees against these threats. HH Workwear includes an extensive collection of flame retardant garments.
>> Helly Hansen Workwear’s flame retardant clothing is approved for use in environments where there is a risk of incidental contact with open flames or when there is a danger of short term exposure to strong radiant heat. The products should be used with other flame retardant clothing. Please contact us for guidance, to ensure you choose the right flame retardant clothes for your needs.
Base and Thermal Layers
The fabric in the flame retardant base layer is 50% flame resistant Lenzing® viscose and 50% wool, which provides insulation as well as flame resistance. The flame retardant viscose fibres have been treated with a mixture of phosphorus and sulphate. The flame retarding treatment is permanent and effective, even after the garments have been repeatedly washed. The combination of wool and viscose provides good insulation properties and a high level of comfort. Flame retardant fibre pile is made of 80% Zirpro®-processed flame retardant wool and 20% flame retardant Trevira SEC®. This process ensures permanent and effective protection. All zips, cuffs, etc, are also made in flame retardant materials. Helly Hansen flame retardant fibre pile has been approved and listed by NATO

For more than thirty years, Kermel® fibre has had tremendous success in providing innovative solutions for firefighter clothing.
KERMEL has always worked in close relationship with many fire brigades and fire department supply.
KERMEL has developed a very wide range of solutions made out from its Kermel® fibre, from fire resistant knitted underwear to fire suits :
Fire suits
Kermel fire reistant fibre is used in :
- the outer fabric
- the membrane support
- the thermal barrier
- the lining.
These elements are the parts of a multi-layer complex.
The multi-functional nature of this firefighter clothing hinges around four aspects :
- protection
- the integrity of the complex
- comfort
- appearance
Along with our partners, we can offer fire suits made from our fibre which meet the ever-increasing requirements of standard EN 469 in terms of protection, durability and comfort.

Kermel fibre is a polyamide-imide, classified as a meta-aramid.
Many assets thanks to its chemical structure:
Non-flammability
It is permanently non-flammable by nature. Industrial protective clothing made from Kermel® aramid fibre thus offers maximum protection at very high temperatures (up to 1,000°C), contrary to protective clothing only treated with a fire-retardant that deteriorates over time.
Thermal insulation
Kermel® aramid fibre is an excellent thermal insulator, providing efficient protection from heat, even in lightweight protective clothing.
Thermostability
Kermel® fabrics are flame stable and protective clothing integrity is maintained for a relatively long time, thus allowing for sufficient egress time.
Resistance to chemicals
The chemical inertness of Kermel® aramid fibres provides efficient protection against the majority of chemical agents, even at high concentrations under the effect of splashing.
Permanent colour
The main advantage of Kermel® over competing fibres is the fact that it is solution-dyed during the manufacturing process. This property allows exceptional color fastness. KERMEL offers a range of over 40 colours for your industrial protective clothing !
Extreme comfort
The fibre's low modulus results in Kermel® aramid fabric and knitwear having unequalled drape, softness and comfort.
Impressive appearance
Kermel® does not pill: industrial protective clothing stay looking perfect over time.
Good mechanical resistance
Its high resistance to abrasion allows for the creation of extremely durable industrial protective clothing, that do not deteriorate during industrial wash cycles.

Assyst-Bullmer's cad.assyst includes software for pattern design, grading and marker making/nesting. The system enables you to digitize patterns into the system, or create pattern pieces directly on the screen, grade them, and create markers to get maximum utilization of fabric. The straightforward, user-friendly, and flexible software enables you to dramatically speed the production process and achieve up to a 50 percent increase in throughput.
Assyst-Bullmer's core applications support add-on modules including automatic marker making, powerful cut optimization software, with compatibility for all major CAD file formats, and the rev in pattern construction -- the Macros ToolKit. This module represents a given sequence of instructions designed to automate pattern modification. It is now available in a form that permits repetitive steps of CAD operations to be converged into one automatic short cut.
One of the system's important strengths is its ease of use. You will appreciate the professional, familiar tools the software provides. Functions, data, and process-enabled steps are easily identifiable through the friendly and intuitive interface. "Smart" information about the piece and its relationship to other pieces, styles and markers is readily available through powerful underlying data-storage capabilities. cad.assyst detects user errors early, preventing loss of time and profit.

Model -----------XL400e --------XL410e
Print Type ----- Direct/Thermal Transfer
Resolution ---- 203 dpi -------- 305 dpi
Max. Speed --- 8 ips ------------ 6 ips
Max. Print Width 3.9"
With its high level of technical specification, the XL400e Series is the ideal printer for the textile, apparel and packaging industries. When changing media, at the touch of a button, this intelligent series will sense the changed material and calibrate itself automatically ensuring that the change of media and carbon ribbons is easy and fast. With these smart sensors, it spells much more options for the end-user: be it tags or labels with I-mark, label gap or R-corner for position sensor.
In addition, the printhead is also able to control and regulate the printing temperature thereby maximising its lifespan, allowing a higher printing speed. Coupled with a cutter system, the XL Series makes precision cuts through materials up to 0.3 mm thick. With the option of a rewinder and stacker, it promises to measure up to withstand high demands and continuous printing requirements.
The XL Series also offers resolutions of 203 dpi and 305 dpi and direct thermal and thermal transfer printing. The standard interface is the RS-232C but optional interfaces such as LAN, USB, IEEE1284 or the high speed RS-232C are available.
