Skum HotFoam (TM) - an innovative and proven fire protection solution for enclosed spaces, including tunnels, aircraft hangars & warehouses.
The HotFoam system is not only efficient and swift when it comes to combating fires in enclosed spaces, it also considerably reduces the risks of secondary damage as it has a low water content. When activated, a fine water spray fog provided by the system ensures a very fast temperature knock-down. Following this, the foam will totally flood the protected area in a matter of minutes and submerge the fire, as well as excluding the air needed for further combustion.
HotFoam technology is an excellent solution for a wide range of applications including:
- Petrochem production & storage facilities
- Machinery spaces onboard ships and oil rigs
- Process plants
- Warehouses
- Underground storage facilities
- Aircraft hangars
- Power plants
- Cable tunnels

Total portable fire extinguishers
-Standard Foam and Eco Range Portables
The latest standard foam fire fighting portables from TOTAL offer fast and effective knock down and are particularly suited to Class B fires based on petrochemical derivatives, oils and fats. They are also reliable and very safe, with no particulates or harmful residues. They have no effect on the earth’s ozone layer.
In the Eco Range portables, the foam is totally encapsulated in an internal cartridge and is only mixed when discharged. This has the benefit of considerably extending the life of the foam concentrate over that of standard premix foams, making servicing much easier and eliminating disposal concerns.
• Offices, schools, shops and flammable liquid storage are examples of typical applications.
• Swirl-effect, multi-spray nozzle for optimal droplet dimension and projection range
• Internal corrosion protected with 1mm PE coating
• Safe for inadvertent use with electrical equipment (up to 1000v, minimum distance 1m)
• Pressure gauge with permanent pressure control
• A test valve is located behind the pressure gauge, ensuring a leak free seal and ease of maintenance
• High corrosion protection for entire unit, inside and out
• The Foam concentrate is separated in special cartridges (S6 AKP model only). This gives the unit a very high level of environmental protection, makes it service friendly and maximises the life of the foam concentrate
• When the extinguisher is pressurised, the foam will be instantly ready mixed (S6 AKP model only)

Macron offers a range of medium & low expansion foam branchpipes for all applications.
Our medium expansion branchpipe is capable of producing large quantities of foam in situations requiring rapid foam cover with low water useage. They perform well with high expansion fluoroprotein, multipurpose AFFF and ARC concentrates with the advantage of producing five times more foam with the same amount of water when compared to low expansion foam branchpipes.
Features:
- 200 and 400 litres/minute flow models available
- Lightweight equipment with proven performance
- Pressure gauge shows water pressure at branchpipe
- Range of international couplings available
Our low expansion branchpipe is designed to produce long coherent throws of low expansion foam using all types of foam concentrate. They perform well with protein, fluoroprotein, multi-purpose, ARC, FFFP and AFFF concentrates with the advantage of a longer throw and superior cooling in comparison with medium expansion foam branchpipes.
Features:
- 200 and 400 litres/minute flow models available
- Ball valve as standard
- Self inducing version available
- Range of international couplings available.

The Fomax 7 Hi-Ex Foam Generator:
As it is powered by a water turbine, all that is required for operation is a supply of synthetic foam compound, such as Towalex MB or Plurex high expansion foam and a pressurised water supply (4 bar minimum).
Applications:
Fomax 7 is ideally suited to all total flooding applications such as warehouses, ship holds, engine rooms, machinery spaces, electric cable ducting, chemical processing and refining plants and mines. It's also effective for specialist applications such as blanketing LNG spill fires, controlling vapour release from toxic or flammable liquid spills and the inerting of tanks.
The Fomax 7 SE version is a portable smoke extraction unit, again powered by a water turbine, and is suitable for smoke extraction in hazardous areas.
Features:
- Variable expansion
- Output up to 204m3/min
- Built in bypass system
- Compact unit with recessed controls
- Smoke extractor options
- Easily portable (wheeled model also available)
- Built in handles
- Intrinsically safe operation for hazardous area use.
This unit is sold under the Skum brand.

Foam spray extinguishers (AFFF – Aqueous Film Forming Foam) are best suited for Class B flammable liquid risks where they represent a direct hazard. Foam spray extinguishers are especially suitable for Class B fires involving flammable liquids such as oils, spirits, fats and certain plastics. The blanketing effect of foam spray gives rapid knock down which smothers the flame and thus prevents re-ignition of flammable vapours by sealing the surface of the solution.

ArmaSound is a versatile acoustic absorber designed for use in a variety of different acoustic applications. A high performance sound absorber which also offers additional barrier (transmission loss) performance and both vibration damping and de-coupling (isolation) properties.
Delivering optimal performance at lower thicknesses than traditional materials, ArmaSound RD is a uniquely advanced open cell acoustic insulation material. With a peak absorption frequency determined by the insulation thickness and the material density ArmaSound RD can be engineered to target specific problem frequencies.

To achieve free-field conditions within an acoustic test environment for the measurement of radiated sound power and directivity, the testing area must be free from reverberation, feedback and resonance throughout the audible frequency spectrum. pinta's SONEX Wedges, cut in a variety of sizes and shapes, are effective materials for use in anechoic and hemi-anechoic chambers. The acoustical wedges absorb the kinetic energy created by the sound waves. At the same time, the large surface formed by the wedges increases the total absorptive area to absorb even the long wavelengths of low frequency sound.

Elastomers have two major properties:
- they are practically incompressible;
- when subject to shear, they have a very low modulus which means that show small reactions for high amplitudes
The shear and compression properties of elastomers enable laminated assemblies to be used as conventional bearings:
- immobilization and load bearing capacity in certains directions;
- capacity to move in directions perpendicular to the previous one.
