Rino Industries has launched a new range of rubber, jaw-type shaft couplings that are said to combine the zero-backlash advantages of metal with the general advantages of rubber couplings. For this reason, the new MJT couplings are suitable for use in applications requiring rotation-angle transmission without backlash, or in applications necessitating torque transmission.
The couplings have a unique design with a polyurethane sleeve, pressed and assembled between two aluminium hubs. There are three sleeve types available, black, white and red, which vary in hardness depending on the properties required for each application.
Selecting a harder sleeve eliminates backlash, but, unlike metal couplings, the MJT design will also absorb torsional vibration. The new couplings are also able to deal with higher torque values than metal couplings and are therefore suitable for applications such as pumps and general production machinery where zero backlash is necessary.
The new range is available with six outer diameters from 14 — 65mm and features four standard types of shaft attachment. Easy-to-attach setscrew and clamping types for low torque, zero backlash applications, or clamping-key types for high torque applications.

Lovejoy’s CJ Series provides to the world market highly reliable curved jaw coupling for light, medium and heavy duty electric motor and internal gas combustion engine applications. The GS Series provides a coupling solution for the motion control industry which continues Lovejoy's long history of being the world's premier coupling supplier.
The three-piece design incorporates a radial curvature to the jaw face and both radial and axial curvature (crowning) to the elastomer (spider). The curved jaw hubs are offered in sintered iron, steel, aluminum, cast and nodular iron materials. The CJ Series curved jaw coupling and the variety of urethane elements allows for angular, parallel, and axial misalignment. A simple three-piece design, makes it easy to assemble. Unlike some metallic coupling designs, the CJ Series design requires no lubrication. When assembled, the CJ Series offers no metal to metal contact of parts. The elastomer in compression design offers the benefit of continuing to function even after the elastomeric ele¬ment fails (fail-safe design). A general purpose, lubricated design that combines the economy and the high torque capacity of a gear coupling, combined with the torsional flexibility of an elastomer coupling. Backed by a 5-year lubrication warranty, David Brown grid couplings require no periodic maintenance when lubricated with David Brown LTG (Long Term Grease) at installation.
