SIKA positive displacement flow sensors are highly accurate transmitters that measure volume flows. They work on the positive displacement principle.
The flowing medium causes a pair of gear wheels to rotate. The sensor is manufactured to the highest accuracy and is then precisely assembled. The rotation is scanned by two non-contact pick-offs. As each tooth generates a pulse, the resolution is very high. Very low flow rates can be accurately measured and small volumes can be dosed.
The measurement unit contains two pick-offs that are circumferentially offset by ¼ of a tooth pitch to generate a 2 channel flow-proportional frequency signal. Suitable processing of the signal provides an greater resolution and the option to identify the flow direction.
It is possible to measure not only high viscosity media but also media whose viscosity varies e.g. because of changes in temperature. The maximum pressure drop should not exceed 16 bars. This limits the measurement range of high viscosity media (see pressure drop diagrams). Basically, the measurement accuracy increases with increase in viscosity of the media.

The Titan oval gear flowmeters work by using the liquid pressure to drive a pair of interlocking oval gears. This rotation can be detected by a variety of means to give either a TTL or contact closure pulse output. The unit is manufactured in a choice of materials and pressure ratings to suit most applications and as with all positive displacement flowmeters, the performance improves with increasing viscosity, and can achieve an accuracy of ± 0.1% of reading.
The standard range of sizes covers from 0.25” to 2” BSPF connections, with maximum flows from 1l/min to 500 L/min depending on the model. Viscosities up to 10,000cP can be measured accurately, both in forward and reverse flow. Units are available for high pressure and temperature operation.

Basically, the VTR consists of a rotor, the housing and the measurement pick-up. The flow of fluid sets the rotor into motion.
|

Based on the same meshing gear principle as
the VSE series VS and VHM the Ecoflow sensor
measures viscous media, however as in-linedevice.
An integrated, magnetoresistive pick-up with PNP
or NPN-switching output produces per tooth one
impulse
|
|
The programmable flow display evaluates the pulses
from the magnetoresistive pickup and shows the
chosen units on a backlit LCD-display. Alarm and
condition reports are signalled in the display by a
red LED with additional text. The measured values
are transmitted by means of an analogue output, 0
or 4 … 20 mA, and 0 or 2 … 10 Volt by means of
a resistor (500 Ohm). The limit values are signalled
through two transistor switching outputs.

The rotation of the flowmeter gear wheels is sensed
by a non-contact magnetoresistive pickup, amplified
and emitted as pulses. The passing of each
individual gear tooth produces a pulse corresponding
to a precise positively displaced measured
volume. The pulse output can be produced as PNP
or NPN signals. The frequency is proportional to
the momentary flow.

The electronic oval gear meters for product delivery control and measurement are used in the private distribution of low, medium and high viscosity fluids such as fuel, lubrication oil and other special fluids compatible with the construction materials. The oval gear measuring principle adopted offers high precision and low pressure losses together with a compact lightweight design and easy installation.
An electronic card with microprocessor permits control of the display and calibration of the meter. A complete range of models is designed to satisfy all flow rate requirements.
Ease of use, compactness and the independent battery power supply make these products suitable for installation in both stationary systems on fluid transfer and distribution lines and in mobile applications as an accessory for delivery valves and guns and for all other industrial applications that require fluid delivery control.

2150EX Flow Meter for Zone 0 locations
Area Velocity meter - Baseefa approved as ATEX Group II, Category 1G
The 2150EX is an intrinsically safe Area Velocity Flow Meter that is specifically designed and Baseefa-approved for use in Zone 0 and Zone 1 potentially explosive atmospheres under ATEX Directive 94/9/EC.
The AV 2150EX smart Area Velocity probe is built on digital electronics, so the analog level is digitized in the sensor itself. The probe is also factory-calibrated for 3 meter span at different temperatures. This superior built-in calibration eliminates temperature drift in the level signal, providing long-term level stability that reduces recalibration frequency and completely eliminates span recalibration.
The 2150EX is powered by two lithium or rechargeable lead acid battery packs, or by the 2194EX network interface module. Highly efficient power management provides battery life up to 8 months with two-minute data storage interval.
